So embarrassing.
I know nothing about the Thor comics (because, really...), but this character was really, really boring in the two movies he was in. More boring than Thor, even. Is this guy's performance of the character held in particularly high regard by comic book fans?

StanleyPain - 2013-07-25 As a kid, me and my brother loved the Thor and Iron Man comics, and we both kind of loved Loki as our favorite villain. So, as I go into beard mode here: This version of Loki is basically the best way to get him on-screen. In the traditional comics, Loki is sort of like The Joker only with god-like powers and if he were interpreted that way I think the movies could have gone down a weird, terrible route with Loki becoming some sort of Riddler-esque thing where whatever actor played him would just be doing some over-the-top thing. The movie Loki isn't quite as "cool" as the comic version, but I honestly don't think he would work on-screen as well.

Hooker - 2013-07-25 I don't really understand how super-boring is the best way to bring him to the screen.
|
bawbag - 2013-07-25 also Hiddleston has a huge, annoying 'Cumberbatch-level' fandom following for whom he can apparently do no wrong.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-07-25 I left this comment below, but I think its to appeal to girls and get them into the theater. I know a lot of girls that love these movies and hate comics. For me its almost vice-versa. I don't hate the movies, I just feel like a comic is a much purer expression. An author, an artist, some ink, and you got a comic. Vs. the 1000 something visual effects people involved in the film.

I know a girl that would immediately orgasm if she was there. I have no idea why girls like it so much. I guess he looks great compared to the dumb surfer guy he was paired with, but still. I wish the Avengers had an interesting villain, not this putz.

On no an actor making thousands of fans happy boooo
|
Xenocide - 2013-07-25 You don't understand. Many of those fans are girls.
Girls are cheering for someone who isn't me. :(
|
Hooker - 2013-07-25 Can we at least wait until the comments appear before we make them? poeTV can be so depressingly fatalistic with this stuff.
|
Hooker - 2013-07-25 Mock them, that is.

Ok, but when is skrillex going to drop the bass?

Not big on this actor in other roles, but he rocks that goofy costume.
I might have to submit the nostalgia critic's "why Loki is so hot" just to twist the knife into the sad fanbois.

People cheer up more for the bad guy.

Screwtape - 2013-07-26
Do they have any actual comics at Comicon anymore or is it just one giant Hollywood junket?
|
spikestoyiu - 2013-07-26
I had no idea girls were so into the Trenchcoat Mafia look.
|
roofle - 2013-07-26
All of those girls are going to be really disappointed when he turns into a chick with giant breasts in the next movie.
But this was actually pretty cool.
