I was about to comment that it reminded me a lot of Flash.

This show exists because of Batman. The Mr. Freeze origin episode was so expensive to produce it put Bandai Animation out of business temporarily, and animation went to another firm. The artists were reassembled later and this is what they came up with.

(Specifically it was the frost inside Mr. Freeze's helmet, which was airsprayed by hand by the head of the firm, and it was absurdly overwrought. The frost was never in another Mr. Freeze episode.)

Cowboy Bepop was the 90s. There are plenty of good animes from the 90s.

Anime started to suck once Rumiko Takahashi sold out and dumped Ranma for that Inuyasha poser shit. Everything from the first US airing of Inuyasha on down was just plain stupid and awful, which on an unrelated and totally coincidental note, happened to occur around the time I turned 18.

Samurai Champloo was pretty good, as was Paranoia Agent. Fullmetal Alchemist had its moments.

*Epic Beard Time* I am currently re-watching the entire series and this intro was not used until the third episode when things went in motion.

I could only watch the show twice a day, what more could I have done?

They got two seasons, which is one season longer than it usually takes for an anime to start to suck. I call that downright daring support.
