AFAIK, Warrior Cats is a book series that reads like ElfQuest and Watership Down mated and had an otaku baby.

I really can't fathom how and why so many people take this franchise seriously. The books and their fans try to play the violent 3dginess so straight, but they're kitty-cats, KITTY CATS for God's sake! It's like an experiment to see how long bathos can be maintained before dribbling idiots get sick of it - and it seems the answer is, indefinitely.

Mousefur? What the hell kind of humiliating name is that for a cat? If I were a cat and I met another cat named mousefur, I would beat that cat up.

It's like multiple-car pileup at the intersection of probable furries and obsessive adult fans of kids book series; though I should say "nominal adults", these people may be physical adults but just like so many of similar folks, the people who worshipped things like Disney Afternoon cartoons and Tiny Toons and whatever we saw exhibited at the original PoE they're probably locked in a terminal adolescence.
