basically the people making the game hired a WOMAN (GASP!!!) as their new community director who would be having the most interaction with the fans and the community of shitheads who backed this game collectively lost their shit when they found she was somewhat outspoken on feminist issues, believed in better attention to gender issues in video games, and dared draw a picture of Mega Man, err, I mean Might 9 as a female. The usual slut shaming, rape threats, and pseudo-intellectual FEMINISM DEFEATED bullshit resulted.

Of course, the community insists that calling her a bitch and slut and whore is totally cool because it's not because of sexism, mind you, but because they're pretty sure she is not very familiar with the austistic-level details of Mega Man's history and might maybe possibly be in a relationship with one of the people involved in the project, which means of course she got her job because she's fucking someone, not because of her talent. I really don't care about this game one way another since Mega Man hasn't been fun for close to 20 years and early kickstarter backers deserve whatever shenanigans are pulled on them, but it bugs me when people invoke social justice and past prejudices as a means to indulge in the same hate they're supposedly fighting against.
