Its nice to hear a nuanced view of the piece coming from a religious person. To me its kinda of beautiful you see Christ bathed in a strange amber light. People just get put off when they learn that that "amber" is piss. If the dude took the photo in whiskey, honey, or any other golden liquid but piss it wouldn't be a big deal.

What I like best about this is how she's hit on a way to dis Piss Christ, without feeding the trolls or letting it get to her. She's a total class act.

These days, it's nice to hear such a thoughtful, nuanced view about ANYTHING from ANYONE.

I'm glad we all agree that Sister Wendy is wonderful. A while ago, I looked for her videos on YouTube, and they weren't there, but I just checked and they're substantially available. Even though they've been up since 2012, I intend to download them before someone intervenes.

Well, I am the opposite of disappointed. Without thinking too much about it, I might not have expected a Sister Wendy video to make it out of the hopper, much less turn out to be everybody's favourite. This has restored my lately-diminished faith, and I'm going to start looking for more quality submissions.

I used to watch her show obsessively. I had all her books. She really understood that art is so much more than presentation, and introduced a teenage me to things like subtextual analysis and historical context.
