The following is a true story: I saw this in syndication when I was like 7 and it shocked me, not cuz I knew what was going on narrative-wise. Later that day I told my mom I thought 90210 was a really smart show because a character's dad died, and he cried out for him, and it made me wonder how I'd feel if my own dad died. A few years later, when Wikipedia was invented, I searched for this plotline but couldn't find it (because I didn't look too hard, I actually managed to make myself a life by then). I truly thought until this moment that I had invented this memory-- I had no idea why a car would explode on this show.
