If you want to skip the build up, fight starts at ~4:25 mark.

Hate put him in prison. Love's gonna bust him out.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-04-20

I heard it was recently revealed that he was actually guilty after all.

Didja?

oddeye - 2014-04-20

Really? Then it must have been within the past few hours after his death since I can't seem to find it having been reported anywhere in the time up-to and including his death.

Not calling you a liar, just saying. You'ed best cite your sources mister!

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-20

They reported his death on the news today with "wrongly accused of..." in there. So that's progress, I guess.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-20

I mean convicted, not accused.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-04-21

Yeah, actually I heard it from a guy in work*. I have also since gone and looked for any trace of this on t'internet, and have found none. He must have been full of shit.

*The topic came up because I was playing desire by bob dylan which features the song "hurricane". This work guy had even said as a result of these revelations concerning Carter that Bob Dylan has disavowed that song.

Found some sources! Perhaps your friend got his info from here? (NSFW!!!!!!!!!)

That seems like a pretty reliable source, good work Evilhomer!

Actually during this work conversation (during which I was under the impression new damning evidence had come to light) I was initially abhorred and disappointed, but then I sort of started to appreciate the delicious irony of it all,, now I'm kinda disappointed again that things are back to normal and the world seems less whimsical.

Since I'm the only one who knows how to use wikipedia, I'm awarding these stars to Myself.

Rubin "Hurricane" Carter (May 6, 1937 – April 20, 2014)
was a middleweight boxer who was wrongfully convicted of murder[1] and later released following a petition of habeas corpus after spending almost 20 years in prison.

In 1966, police arrested both Carter and friend John Artis for a triple-homicide committed in the Lafayette Bar and Grill in Paterson, New Jersey. Police stopped Carter's car and brought him and Artis, also in the car, to the scene of the crime. On searching the car, the police found ammunition that fit the weapons used in the murder.[2] Police took no fingerprints at the crime scene and lacked the facilities to conduct a paraffin test for gunshot residue. Carter and Artis were tried and convicted twice (1967 and 1976) for the murders, and both served time in Rahway State Prison. After the second conviction was overturned in 1985, prosecutors chose not to try the case for a third time.

So he had been free since 1985. They made a movie about it, and he sat next to Bill Clinton at the premiere. That is INDEED progress!

totally wrongly convicted, but still a huge piece of shit

oddeye - 2014-04-21

This is actually the first I've ever heard of him. I just wanted to use this as a good excuse to post a video of a guy being punched in the face and falling through the ropes.
