Nuclear war is inevitable. I had an old Platoon Sergeant who grew up near the missile silos. The Russians, of course, had and still have their own nukes pointed at ours as well as at our cities. When old Sergeant Knowles was in elementary school, he found out that the teachers' instruction in the event of a launch was to gather the children outside and tell them to think about people who loved them.
He told me about this nonchalantly (he pretended he didn't like me very much) and I answered with a noncommittal "damn, sarn't", but thinking about that shit still brings tears to my eyes.

There's a really stomach churning followup video that I don't care to look for again. After the fire is out they storm the building and go from body to body. If they find somebody alive they baseball bat them to death. The actual baseball batting is not shown but you can hear them beating somebody so savagely it sounds like a dribbling basketball.

I don't want to see dead people but this is one of the most historically significant events in at least my own life, and for one of the first times, captured by the people involved and not by the news.

I think JBF is trying to keep us from the slippery slope of snuff for the sake of snuff with no context, which is why that rule was in place in the first place. Yeah, exactly what sosage said. It's one thing to post important videos of political uprisings and massacres, and another to post car crash videos just for the hell of it. This also has the NSFW warning, which is the right way to do it too.

I never thought about that rule in detail. I just always assumed it referred to "Faces of Death" type videos, which I tend to hate.

But this...this could have implications for a door being swung open that we can't shut. China is backing Russia on this. Putin wants dominance economically of Europe and now that he's supplying so much gas and oil to them it complicates things enormously. They want to call the shots here because they see what he's doing for what it is, a power play that is sudden and dramatic and not diplomatic, and he's doing it to display his power and heighten nationalism. It's dangerous and reckless and Europe sees it as a powderkeg, the US govt can't be trusted not to get involved even though I REALLY hope they stay the fuck out of this. But everything is so interconnected and it boils over, Putin may have caused more domino effect than he anticipated.

When WWIII starts I'll hopefully be working on a cruise ship kissing the asses of the wealthy and living it up in St. Croix.

I was thinking of trying the same thing, RoUS, but I'm still technically in the Reserves ("inactive" but that'll change the moment WWIII kicks off), so come doomsday Uncle Sam will hunt me down, St Croix or no St Croix.
