Goin' off the rails on a crazy train!

Billy the Poet - 2014-05-09

I preferred this when it was Isabelle Adjani.

Cherry Pop Culture - 2014-05-09

Pringles apparently piss her off :(

baleen - 2014-05-09

Pringles are the new Catcher in the Rye.

baleen - 2014-05-09

Also, here's the news story about this, with extra footage of how fucked up this woman is.

infinite zest - 2014-05-09

Yikes! This kind of reminds me of a girl I met on okCupid who was "dating" for a while. She was on a high dosage of Xanax and would just flip out like this, kicking over peoples' lawn art or attacking random people if she wasn't on it. When she was, she was the sweetest gal in the world. She also tried to cut off my pinky because I was like "pinky swear.." just took a knife and went to town.

infinite zest - 2014-05-09

I'm looking at this from a completely objective lens: The girl was on the phone, something was wrong and she wanted to hit the next available object for all I know, most likely a male. It's not a question of "all men are scum" but the guy should NOT have responded that way even if it was in self defense from some crazy ass bitch. I've been beaten up by spouses and significant others and never ever throw a punch, not because I'm stronger (really I'm not) but because I'm immediately in the position to let it go.

There was this lady at a place I used to work at and she'd come in and panhandle the entire time, then loiter outside. It was my job to calm her down and it sucked because kicking someone out who's in a wheelchair sucks, but it got to the point where she was harassing every customer. I think I saw her walking one time so it could've been an act but that's besides the point. Anyway one day three of her sons jumped me because she said some shit about me and pretty much I was going to die. They pushed me around, took me upstairs to their spot and pulled out guns (none of them were loaded. I know the difference) If I had fought back though who knows if I would have been able to write this. Instead I sat there, took the abuse and eventually told them that it was nothing personal. Believe it or not we hugged at the end, I said I wasn't going to call the cops or press charges

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-10

ashtar. - 2014-05-10

I enjoy IZ story time.

infinite zest - 2014-05-10

Aw thanks Ashtar. I have a lot of downtime at work and poetv is pretty much the only site on the web I'm on. I'm not a bouncer btw. Just a door person :)

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-05-11

Most of the panhandlers I was forced to ask to leave at my former retail job were just mentally ill.

I suspect mental illness in this video.

memedumpster - 2014-05-11

Five stars for Infinite Zest.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-05-09

Previewer image + submitter name = perfection.

jreid - 2014-05-09

She's probably possessed.

StanleyPain - 2014-05-09

You know it's Canada when the cops immediately all dogpile the native, and not the crazy lady randomly punching people.

Wander - 2014-05-09

Good thing that doesn't happen in the US.

We killed our natives.

chairsforcheap - 2014-05-09

seattle? the cops make a living by beating native americans

Burnov - 2014-05-09

Yup, this is Edmonton, piece of shit city, piece of shit cops.

Glad I don't live there anymore.

Honestly, I was pretty discouraged by the lack of balls that guy had and then he did what he should've done.

And of course the cops are just fucking garbage.

baleen - 2014-05-09

Seattle is called "city of ghosts" by many Native Americans from reservations. It's where you go to disappear and lose yourself, get wasted, then go home.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-05-09

I'm glad the cops stopped that dangerous man and fined him 0 bucks. Good Job!

oddeye - 2014-05-09

I sympathize with him and all and I'd hate to let this nutcase go after being attacked for no god damn reason BUT he didn't have to get up and go after her when she was leaving. I'm not saying he should be fined or given anything other than a verbal warning but he definitely helped to escalate the situation there.

Also if you go bonkers and randomly attack people you shouldn't just be turned loose once you are contained. She should have been hospitalised for evaluation or something for fuck's sake.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-05-09

I agree she needs help, I just don't understand why someone should be expected to react rationally to being punched in the head.

oddeye - 2014-05-09

The law was probably not written with a "mentalist goes bananas on your pony tail" scenario in mind.

That guy - 2014-05-09

Because there are at least some grown men who don't react too late and too much.

So much of this video feels unreal that it blows my mind.

baleen - 2014-05-10

She was a girl so maybe she was having her crazy time.

oddeye - 2014-05-09

I like how there first reaction is to force him to the ground and cuff him. Didn't just separate the 2 and take statements etc.

Nope, he's male and ethnic, she's white and female so he is obviously the barbaric criminal.

Hooker - 2014-05-09

You're honestly going MRA on this one? The transit cops clearly got on at that stop. All they would have seen was the guy attacking the girl.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-05-09

No, I think there's still plenty of racism going on in this thing.

None of the bystanders came forward to say she instigated the incident and/or the guy was the wronged party.

And I certainly can't help but think the cops wouldn't have been so quick to grind his face into the floor if his skin were a lighter shade.

oddeye - 2014-05-09

If he was on top of her headbutting her nose into jelly then by all means drag him to the station by the handcuffs BUT all they saw was a tussle and they instantly pounce on him but not her.

What does that suggest? Where they radioed by a witness saying he was the brutal aggressor? Doubt it. Maybe it was because he was taller, male and a minority? Could that have affected their split second decision?

It's nothing to do with men's rights, men are treated better than women in every country I know of, but everything to do with the perception people have of men, women and race.

ashtar. - 2014-05-10

Well, she was passed out and seizing at the time...

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-10

I'm with Hooker on this one: the cops were just doing their job by breaking up the altercation. It's debatable whether they could even assess his race before they jumped on him to break it up. Seizure girl was clearly not going to cause any more of a problem so they went after the other guy.

This is not stunning abuse, this is not racism, this is not totalitarianism. This is the function of a police officer, you dunces.

magnesium - 2014-05-10

Speaking of MRA's, there's a particularly vocal group of them in Edmonton. Have they thrown a fit about this video yet or are they still too busy with their campaign against the sexual assault help centre? I mean, this guy's not white, so it probably doesn't bother them, but I'm sure there's a way they can spin it to be about upper-middle class white guys.

The way natives in this country are treated is appalling. I realize the police probably didn't see how the fight started, but still, they're use of force on the native man was way over the top.

Hooker - 2014-05-10

Oh, Birno (and oddeye)

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-10

magnesium: You're totally correct about the way we treat our First Nations citizens, I'm frequently shocked at how seemingly civilized people will all of a sudden start talking about natives like they're some particularly pernicious species of weed.

That being said; nothing in this video is surprising. Cops don't have the option to figure out who's in the wrong sometimes. I'd like to note that no tasers, batons or guns were drawn, let alone used.

Also, you shits whining about "None of the white people stood up for the brown guy!!" don't realize that the lady taking the video is a native herself. Why don't you hold of crying RACISM until it's actually occurring?

Binro the Heretic - 2014-05-10

Hooker,

I've seen too many white guys being told, "Calm down, sir! Just settle down!" Even when they were still literally in the middle of pounding on someone. And they were, without fail, left on their feet even when cuffs were being applied.

Meanwhile, I've seen too many non-whites being ordered to lie on the ground and put their hands behind their head even if they just happened to be bystanders.

Granted, I grew up in Alabama and Florida, but I can't help but feel something similar is at work in this situation.

Hooker - 2014-05-10

Yeah, well, I've seen Indian, Native, Asian, and Caucasian cops dogpile white men during altercations, but I only live one province over from Alberta, so who knows?

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-10

Yeah, you've got to look the fuck out for Chinese officers in Vancouver.

exy - 2014-05-10

Yeah, y'all. From what the cops saw, some guy was attacking the hell out of some lady. And he deserved to be handcuffed and fined for not letting the crazy person go away when she was done assaulting him. What exact lesson does he expect a crazy person to learn from the justice of his mitts?

I also wonder why she was getting stalker-filmed in the first place--some weird behavior beforehand or is the cameraman a creep?

Binro the Heretic - 2014-05-10

In extended versions of the video, she exhibits odd behavior well before the attack. I'm sure the person started filming her thinking (probably rightly so) that she was drunk or strung out and would make for an entertaining upload to YouTube later.

oddeye - 2014-05-10

I don't care about them breaking up a fight, that's what they are supposed to do as was rightly pointed out, I just don't think they should have slammed him to the ground and cuffed him up before getting the facts.

What is wrong with that exactly?

exy - 2014-05-10

The guy was being violent 100% of the time they saw him. They assumed he'd hit them too, so they tackled him. It would have been commendable if they'd been gentler, but they weren't acting inappropriately here, IMO.

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-10

Adventures In Not Facing Reality: Fuckhead Edition.

oddeye - 2014-05-10

Unlike these illiterate reactionaries, we are both on the same page exy and what a glorious page it is.

Hooker - 2014-05-11

You don't really get to accuse other people of being reactionaries when you're the one shouting racism.

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-11

I heard if you say racism three times in front of a mirror, Aunt Jemima comes and drags you back to the plantation.

Gmork - 2014-05-11

You can see the excitement in the pig's body language as he finally gets to push someone else around.

High school must have been tough for him.

BorrowedSolution - 2014-05-09

**ahem**

Would.

ashtar. - 2014-05-10
