This is the reason why I don't seek therapy or trust psychologists. When I was about 20 I started freaking out almost dropping out of college. I missed my hometown and hated everyone except for my girlfriend, who was suicidal. She wasn't suicidal because she was a Baby Lift kid, had adoptive parents who were completely supportive and (for all I know) all the money in the world. She's happy now and is married to some dude and has a kid. Do I feel a little pain in my heart when I see her happy with someone else? Sure. But any pain is immediately replaced by the joy I feel for her future..

Anyway when I almost dropped out of college I talked to a psychologist and I was talking about that and that was their fucking solution: that maybe I'm secretly gay (sorry guys I've tried) and when they couldn't figure out a solution they just put me on some antidepressants which I stopped taking. I lived in a fucking attic. For the most part without heat in the wintertime in Wisconsin. Not a happy camper. My music of choice was a band that wrote a song called "I Love You I'm Going to Blow Up Your School." Seemed like I'd never get laid again. My tears would actually freeze in my sleep.

There are a number of conclusions one could come to about the psychology of Elliot Rodger, but him being gay is definitely not one of them.

Everyone is especially desperate to pin this murder spree on something besides his hatred of women, because, you know, it's not like he left behind multiple YouTube videos and a 140 page manifesto explicitly stating that he hated women and intended to kill them all.

The secretly gay angle is becoming the favored angle now that the early "blame it on his aspergers because apparently fake media psych pundits have decided that an autism spectrum disorder that makes you socially awkward is now magically a psychosis that deprives you of the ability to know right from wrong" angle didn't stick.
