A bit of a homoerotic vibe from the audience? Yes? No?

glasseye - 2014-05-30

Well, it IS a metal concert.

Steebis - 2014-05-29

The shrouded sweat suit is a nice touch. At least he grew into his face since the Beavis and Butthead days http://youtu.be/R3Py8hHFrYU

He's got a fat little face.

magnesium - 2014-05-30

From the low angle in the opening, he looks kind of like Andy Richter in a wig.

Grim Reaper is the Manos of Heavy Metal.

Old_Zircon - 2014-05-30

I was up in Maine recording the basic tracks for a (not metal) album I'm producing for some friends last week and they had some good Grim Reaper vinyl lying around. I've come close to picking up their first couple LPs so many times but I've always found something better to spend the on. Same thing with Running Wild, actually.

EvilHomer - 2014-05-30

They aren't bad for 80s NWBHM; they're no Maiden, but you could do a lot worse. Their main problem was that they suffered from serious Flock of Seagulls Syndrome, but vinyl doesn't have a face, right?

"STOP! IN THE NAME OF THAT WHICH DOES NOT SUCK!"

I love that after feeding their "See You In Hell" video to Beavis & Butthead, Mike Judge met the drummer for Grim Reaper at a party. At first, he was afraid the dude was going to kill him, but then the drummer said, "If you think that one was bad, let me send you some of our other videos."

EvilHomer - 2014-05-30

Really? Awwww, that's sweet! Most of the stories I've heard about B&B victims were kinda sad, like Kip Winger bursting into tears because Mike Judge ruined his career. I'm glad Grim Reaper are good sports about it.

Good old Grim Reaper. That's probably why they're friends with Wolverine.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-05-31

I don't know if Kip thought they ruined his career. His Wikipedia entry shows an extensive body of work, and one article cited about Beavis & Butthead getting permission for the rock groups they abuse included this:

---The boys will still be wearing their AC/DC and Metallica T-shirts. And nebbishy Stewart will still be donning a Winger T-shirt.

"I thought (Kip Winger) had a problem with the show, but it turns out he was okay with it," Judge tells Billboard.com. "We tried other bands (logos) but nothing worked as well (as the originals)."---

The two of them have allegedly patched things up, but it's only recently, and it seems to have been mainly a gracious PR move for the sake of the new series.

"We hope that you're going to the same place we're going to. If you are, SUCK IT AND SEE!"
