yes you can play solo missions.

there are 3 difficulty modes for online play, and the harder the mode the more realistic the game.

there's mission editors where you can adjust everything for single/shit 'n giggles with friends play.

Arrgh, I'm not liking this interface. It's too... free to play.

How are they monetizing this game? Which currency can I spend without having to pay real money later on down the road? Like, should I be purchasing stuff with "Lions", or should I save them?

Also, I'm guessing the "Research" is on a real-time timer, like constructing buildings in Simpsons: Tapped Out. Is that correct? I started with a German airplane, which was probably a bad idea, because what I really want is to try out the Japanese faction and also the tanks. I thought maybe starting as Germany would give me access to better planes (the Luftwaffe always has the most badass fighters) and let me kill Soviets, but I'm stuck in a biplane, fighting the Battle of Stalingrad alongside my American allies (?!)

Save lions to unlock vehicle slots.

Research is done through pvp or "single missions"

Only Russian and German tanks are in the game now, can see the under army tab in research window.

Eagles are the premium currency. Save the ones you get free to unlock even more vehicle slot later. Lions are the things you earn in the game to buy new planes, plane upgrades, ammo, and repairs.

They monetize it the usual F2P way, shortcuts and speed boosts for impatient people and a couple "premium" vehicles that (mostly) aren't very good.

Every country starts in early ww2 biplanes/tanks and the research trees progress up to the Korean War.

Play around with the biplanes, they're very fun, especially in pvp.

Man, I am sucking ass at the tank combat. The flying I'm taking to pretty quickly; I usually place in the top four, and I just got my first couple MVP matches! But that's mostly cuz I've played a lot of flight sims, and I'm decent (but not great) at Sturmovik. The tanks, though, I'm lucky if I place above the bottom third. I keep getting blown up with one or two hits, and can't seem to kill anyone, ever.

I've got a Pikachu Zero fighter, too, but that's a WIP and I'm not ready to release it to the public yet.

tanks are a bitch, there's a lot of luck, skill and knowledge required to be good...and even when you are, that luck shit kicks in and you get one shot by a light tank from 2km away.
