Right now, the more Tea-Party-ish Republicans can't stand ol' Mitch. Apart from looking like a half-deflated Don Knotts sex doll, he's too "establishment" for them, representing the old guard that needs to be thrown out.

BTW, by "old guard," I mean "Republicans that actually make the occasional deal to pass legislation and don't always yell for the vote to be stripped from non-whites and for every school to pledge allegiance to Jesus every morning."

I know the pollsters keep saying the GOP is "poised" to take the Senate, but I can't see how if the TP'ers manage to get their candidates on the ballot over their less crazy incumbents.
