who cares
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-10-23 I was about to ask if anyone else could not care less about this series. It's nice to know I'm not alone.
EvilHomer - 2014-10-23 Same here. Which is odd, because I care a lot about some of the stupidest bullshit imaginable.
Xenocide - 2014-10-23 This concludes our official government census of People Who Do Not Care About a Movie.
Thank God we finally have this vital information. Now we can bomb Syria.

Hooker - 2014-10-23
The new villain is Pinocchio?
Xenocide - 2014-10-23 Iron Man goes to Pleasure Island, gets drunk as fuck.
Wakes up as Iron Donkey. No need to pay Robert Downey JR million a picture anymore when you can just CGI up a wacky talking burro for all future installments. He will be voiced by Sinbad.

WHERE IS THE LASER !
Bort - 2014-10-23 Didja catch the short little homage to that game in the first Avengers movie? At one point in the NYC battle, Hawkeye skids on his knee under a laser beam, almost like the game.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-10-23
Disney wants us to know they own the fucking Avengers now huh?
undecided - 2014-10-23
This will probably be disappointing and forgettable as most of these movies are. But I'd be happy if I was wrong.

Prickly Pete - 2014-10-23
I feel like we just did this. Couldn't we have waited until we got some more properties into the mix before rushing this out?
Hooker - 2014-10-23 HOT HAWKEYE!
Nikon - 2014-10-23 Word was that the GotG wouldn't show up until Avengers 3 to help that team deal with Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.
BHWW - 2014-10-23
Not that I care for the Avengers portion of this franchise but even middle-aged, fat and balding James Spader is prob'ly cooler than all of us.
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-10-23
I don't care how uncool this is for a grown-ass man with a literature degree, the First Avengers movie is easily my favorite 21st century movie. I've referred to it as "the Citizen Kane of movies that aren't literally Citizen Kane." It's completely solid at every level. I've never seen an action picture with such great talk scenes.
I see this, and I want to be very careful not to expect too much, to keep a lid on my expectations.
But was that that James Spader in the voice-over? Oh Boy!
Hooker - 2014-10-23 How does comparing it to Citizen Kane help to illustrate your point that it's "completely solid at ever level," I'm wondering? Do you understand what people mean when they make Citizen Kane comparisons?
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-10-23 Citizen Kane is weird. I've watched it, and maybe it's so much a product of its time that I can't really dig it, but it's effing boring.
The trouble is, it's already a meme as the apex of any video-ish art form, so I dunno what it would take to dislodge it.
SolRo - 2014-10-23 So it's to movies what 'Anna Karenina' is to literature?
SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-10-24 Pretty much. I mean, there's great books out there that have really started to cross into the "Ye Olde English" category: They're read more for historical or academic value than for pleasure, as the language, pacing, etc. just doesn't work well with most readers.
I'm glad I read some of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales in College, but that's not something I'd read for fun.
oddeye - 2014-10-24 There is an awesome animated Canterbury Tales series from the UK that I saw as a child, then hunted the dvd down as an adult. Every story is animated by a different person/team so they have vastly different styles, it's proper brill.
If you ever get the chance: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ The-Canterbury-Tales-Animated-DVD/dp/B0007URSTE

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-10-27 >>How does comparing it to Citizen Kane help to illustrate your point that it's "completely solid at ever level," I'm wondering?
I don't think it does, actually.
>>Do you understand what people mean when they make Citizen Kane comparisons?
It means they think it's good?
I thought I was making fun of a silly, overrused analogy. Jesus, Hooker, do you actually go through life like this?
Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-10-11 So, just to reiterate:
Things PoETV Is Too Good For: Citizen Kane, Anna Karenina, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, probably Terminator 2: Judgment Day
Things PoETV Finds Underrated: Grim Fandango
StanleyPain - 2014-10-23
I'm still really confused about this whole "Hydra created Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver" thing that they apparently came up with just to shoe-horn them in here.
StanleyPain - 2014-10-23 Yeah, I know that's the situation, I just don't get why they even bothered then. Out of the pantheon of Avengers-related characters, they seem like the least interesting or connecting people to bring into the story. (yes, I know there's a connection between Ultron and SW in the Ultimates continuity, whatever) I know Vision will be in this film somewhere (Paul Bettany has already been cast since he's the voice of Jarvis, which makes sense), but if they wanted to add some people from Hydra why not a comics-accurate Emil Zola or Scorpion (which would work with the SHIELD angle) or better yet....Crossbones since you fucking put him in Captain America 2. I dunno..I just think is kinda wonky writing.
Nikon - 2014-10-24 I guess the whole Oedipus angle of Ultron appealed to Joss too much. Or if they won't be going there, maybe someone bad wants to use Scarlet Witch to do some major renovations to reality - which has happened in the main Marvel universe more than once.
Gmork - 2014-10-23
Its all starting to run together.
SolRo - 2014-10-24 I looked up the ironman suit in wiki, and turns out there's also a suit for fighting transformers...just imagine that CGI crossover abomination if it were ever made.
oddeye - 2014-10-24
Fuck comic books and fuck the sad man-babies that clutch at them. This shit is for KIDS ffs.
GROWN-UPS don't watch this Barney, they don't watch cartoons and they don't watch THIS. Show your stupid comics up your fat, pimpled assholes.
ashtar. - 2014-10-24 By any reasonable standard, 90% of popular culture is "for children."
SolRo - 2014-10-24 Lets watch grown men play a kids ball game, on a "professional" level, instead!
We know it's for grown men because the commercials are for beer.
oddeye - 2014-10-24 Almost all sports are for children. Only fighting and Roller Derby are acceptable.
Fuck you.
SolRo - 2014-10-24 I'm guessing that between your adult activities of only working, eating, and sleeping, you play Russian roulette to entertain yourself?
Your life sounds fun.
oddeye - 2014-10-26 I hunt, fuck and sleep all day, every day. Go back to your silly comics, little man, I am the most human of all.
Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-10-24
PoETV: Too good for everything since the release of Planescape: Torment.
Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-10-24 fwiw this looks worse than Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, and The Wire put together.
oddeye - 2014-10-24 Planescape is the pinnacle of media, everything else pales with few exceptions.
