I was at dragoncin and was trolling them for fun by telling them the show only lasted one season because it sucked and that Full House lasted 8 seasons thus was 8 times better. I swear one fan was about to hit me. They are the confederate apologists of TV. The Confederacy lasted for five years and 160 years later is still pined for and Firefly lasted one season and after all these years is still pined for. Also MLP FIM will begin its 5th season soon.

While not as acrid as Cena mark in his condemnation of Firefly and it's fans, I've never been a real fan of Whedon and what I saw of Firefly didn't make a good impression on me, it was bad fusion of Western and sci-fi. Whedon's trademark dialogue, that leans towards an annoyingly manufactured quirkiness, was ladled on thickly.
The dedicated Firefly fanbase though, yikes. Much of the fanbase for the show makes the Eltingville Comic Book, Science-Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and Role-Playing Club and the Scientologists put together look like a gentlemen's tea party.

Nominal - 2017-01-15 I normally loathe Whedon but thought Firefly was okay. It was best when it took place entirely in space and very much less so when it tried to be a western.
