I feel pretty safe saying that the modern-day UK is more American than America.

I've never had to work a black friday sale, but if you look up Maxwell Street Days, it's like black friday without any sense of a holiday spirit and I worked that for years in the summer heat. For years, black friday was my Adbusters "buy nothing day" but now I make sure to hit the bar and buy someone who worked a black friday a drink. :)

I can't believe how long this War on Christmas rubbish has been going on.

I have nothing against people celebrating and enjoying Christmas in whatever capacity they choose but I do so wish people would leave me out of it and Christmas it's would fuck right off forever. Also Easter, Thanks Giving, Bank Holiday Monday, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day and Independence Day. Sure there are a bunch I missed as well as Wrestlemania, Superbowl and other retrograde sporting "events".

Fuck you. Wrestlemania is the most wonderful time of the year, you grinch.

Personally, I would wish customers a Happy Winter Wrap Up, but technically Winter Wrap Up occurs at the end of winter, not Christmastime.

Frankly, I just tell them to, "take care," now.
