Clairidryl has been demonstrated to increase the likelihood of abstinence from taking Clairidryl for as long as one year compared to treatment with placebo.

chairsforcheap - 2014-12-16

i liked this one better than too many cooks.

The Mothership - 2014-12-16

This one starts off so promising, but then falls apart in the last 3 minutes. I'd say they're about on par.

infinite zest - 2014-12-16

This one makes more sense given the context of the show. I think most everybody who watches Adult Swim on TV knows that they don't have late 80s/90s sitcoms, so I'd just assume it was something like Tim and Eric or some other guys spoofing the genre, but this probably would've fooled me for the first 2 minutes if I was watching it live that night/morning. Problem is, I'll bet a lot of people went to go smoke a cigarette and came back in the middle of this, missing the joke. THERE'S your anti-smoking PSA right there, folks.

fedex - 2014-12-16

worst comedy ever, I didn't laugh once

infinite zest - 2014-12-16

Actually, it would've been pretty effective if you posted it on facebook, since you still get the ads there, and in case you hit the skip ad button, it just takes you to what seems like a pretty good fake website (ain't no Cool Kat though.) But I think everybody knows that the short videos just have the ad at the beginning, not 30 seconds in.

infinite zest - 2014-12-16

Hehe, from the website:

"If side effects occur please form a second opinion. Your inside affects your outside side effects; Claridryl affects your insides effects on your outside. Please choose sides before consulting Claridryl. Claridryl is not responsible for switched sides, insides or out. What were you thinking? Claridryl is not related to that."

That earns it a favorite.

I am sorry you liked this better than Too Many Cooks.
It's tough being wrong sometimes.

jreid - 2014-12-16

Holy fuck.

This is the second time (for me) that adult swim as pushed through the fifth wall in a completely surreal and profound way.

I don't know where their sudden focus on deep social commentary came from, but I love it and I fucking hope to hell they keep it up.

Sputum - 2014-12-16

Back in highschool a friend of mine said that Adult Swim was the closest thing to culture on TV. In the ten years since, I think it has only become more true.

I live in a house that has cable TV for the first time since a house I lived in when I was in college, when AS was first starting up. I don't think I've ever seen the TV on a different channel.

I've mentioned it before, but it sucks that they put all their original shows like this on when the 9-5 shift crowd is probably sleeping, the swing shift crowd probably wants to go to a bar, and the graveyard shift crowd probably can't watch TV at work. There's nothing wrong with breaking the "prime time" mentality, but it'd kind of be like if FX put It's Always Sunny on at 4AM and just run Simpsons reruns all evening. Not a lot of people would see It's Always Sunny. My complaint was of course debated because American Family Cleveland Dad Chicken Show brings in the bucks, but I wonder how many people actually tune in to watch those shows at 9PM when there are so many other options if you have cable.

kingarthur - 2014-12-17

I work graveyard 40 hours a week and caught this with the sound off at the tail end. Fairly surreal.

Since our local cable company saw fit to excise Comedy Central from our basic cable package, Adult Swim is all I have to get me through the night. I could do a lot worse.

infinite zest - 2014-12-17

I think one of the satellite companies decided to get rid of Cartoon Network recently too, but I couldn't tell you which one. I don't watch a lot of TV but those would sort of be my go-to channels, unless I really wanted to watch live sports. The rest of it's like "well at least it's pretty much part of our internet bill" mentality and I catch MLPFIM when I can, but I can't say that I'd be upset if HUB went away the way I would with those two.

EvilHomer - 2014-12-17

I don't have cable, but after I got medically discharged from the Army and my fiance left me, I lived in a motel for about five months, and Adult Swim was probably the only thing worth watching on my room's beat-up old TV set. Stale pizza, the sound of cops roughing up drug dealers next door, and my friends from Arlen, Texas making me laugh; life doesn't get better than that!

infinite zest - 2014-12-17

That's a good point. I was still married at the time but we got stuck in Florence Kentucky at a Super 8 due to a snowstorm and just sat there in a smoky room that smelled like stale cigarettes and the sound of arguing and then fucking and then arguing again on both sides.. the only thing that kept us sane was the liquor store across the street and a Futurama Marathon back when AS still had it. I'd already seen all of them, but they were still great. I'm not saying they're bad shows (really, there's been some pretty funny stuff on American Dad and I've stood up for FG in the past, and I kinda like Robot Chicken) and I see their logic: CN programming ends at 8, so KotH is a good segue into more adult material for the kids still watching. If this was on right after an episode of Gumball at 7:30, we probably wouldn't have Adult Swim on the air anymore. But something like 11PM wouldn't be too weird, that's what Comedy Central does with South Park (I think, maybe it's 10) and there's nothing here that seems that much more offensive than SP; it's just done better.

I've never worked in the TV biz, so I'm not sure how this works, but I'm guessing corporate brain at Turner is looking strictly at the Nielsen ratings and not Youtube views or facebook shares, or even website hits when they make the decision to pull the plug or not to on a new show. It's cool that AS gives artists like JJ Villard exposure, but a more mainstream show like Rick and Morty is also in jeopardy with this kind of scheduling.

Gmork - 2014-12-17

Is that who's doing this?

Scrimmjob - 2014-12-16

The website really is worth checking out.

infinite zest - 2014-12-16

Do any of the links work? I've got an old browser and am on a pretty old computer, and the fact that the entire page is slowly moving around (how exactly do you do that anyway? because it's cool) nearly stalls my Firefox (this particular work computer can't run Chrome.)

Scrimmjob - 2014-12-17

If you hang out on the page long enough some pretty weird stuff happens, also clicking on the house makes for an interesting time waster.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-12-17

Well now then.

Aelric - 2014-12-17

So, I like how these are made specifically to fuck with insomniacs, but....

It's still on Adult Swim. That kinda takes away from some of it's potential. They need to find a way to get these spread out, maybe pay for legit neytwork infomercial spots or something, somewhere where people won't expect it. I know that won't happen, but it would be so much better to just stumble upon this shit in the wild than in the place known for this shit.

Bort - 2014-12-17

Would not object to an "Adult Swim" tag to make this video more findabler in the future.

Hooker - 2014-12-17

These commercial blocks are getting fucking longer and longer all the time.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-12-17

Nobody will ever top "Blah Airlines."

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-12-26

I hated this but I won't one star it because I'm not a party pooper.

But still...

Needtodestroy - 2015-02-03

Watched while high. Did not realize what I was getting myself into.
It's like new gothic literature.
