Why is that surprising? Plenty of other religions believe in possession and plenty of non-religious types believe in spirits an shit.

If you don't want to watch the whole thing, the funniest part starts at about 8:20, when he shows some "fake" letters from his grandfather "Blackie" (?), who is apparently the one who introduced him to Gematria numerology.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gematria

I don't know if the letter is legible in the Youtube video, but someone, I presume the guy who made the video, has circled a lot of the words and has arrows leading to handwritten circles with number clusters in them. My question here would be, why are only certain words circled? Shouldn't every word be circled or are we only cherry picking words that produce whatever numbers are the most evil. And I'm not familiar with the ins-and-outs of Gematria specifically, but I know in numerology generally, there are ways of playing around with the letters in any word that will get it to add up to some significant number, not that most ordinary people who write anything care about the numerical significance of each individual letter.

Isn't this that guy that makes the "how-to" videos from a filthy locked room/moving truck/in shackles?

Gmork - 2014-12-28

AlanTutorial?

This isn't a tutorial, so no.

Also: he managed to break out of that dark filthy room in his latest video.

In Hebrew Gematria, much abuse is made of the "final letter" value of a word ( a letter that appears multiple times in a word will have a higher value if it appears at the end of a word versus every other time it appeared) and words that have the same value mean the same thing, like "pickle" and "pisscunt".

It's symbolic, to burn a lucky possession, to move on with your life. I have a cursed t-shirt that protects me from harm, but continues to make my life interesting. It's a totem, a ghost dance, a symbol from your background that gives you strength psychologically from an early memory, but also brings your life danger. You burn the totem, you move on from that phase of your life. Using a totem is called a Ghost Dance.

This seems like a lot of trouble when I could just go to my local Cleric or Druid and have them cast Remove Curse for thirty gold pieces.

oddeye - 2014-12-28

What if no cleric or druid of sufficiently high level is available, smart guy??

I used to have a hipster chick for a roommate. One night she got super paranoid stoned and started going around the apartment saying we had to "throw out everything corporate" which meant trying to throw everything into trash bags.
