The movie that changed my life was "Yog: Monster from Space."

I was five years old. I was one of those kids who got more energetic at night and my folks had trouble getting me to sleep. I would stay up late with them on Friday nights and watch old movies. This was before cable TV and 24-hour programming were ubiquitous. One of the local stations ran a late-night "creature feature" on Fridays after the news. I remember it was sponsored by a Lincoln-Mercury dealership who had a live cougar in their ads.

"Yog" was the first daikaiju movie I ever saw, even before I saw any of the Godzilla movies. I didn't know before then movies could be so wild and fun. I knew I wanted to see more after that.
