Whoa! Yeah, you kind of wonder how much certain people in the comedy business knew about Cosby.

Spit Spingola - 2015-02-08 Never thought I'd five star a clip of this lame cartoon.

blase - 2015-02-09 There's a somewhat less subtle reference to Mr. Cosby later in the episode: youtube.com/watch?v=BO-n1y0_AtQ (around the 15:14 mark)

infinite zest - 2015-02-09 Woah no kidding! I think there were a couple other shows that made references to a creepy rapey Cosby, but those were just for fun, playing off what the opposite of his dad persona would be like. This is pretty explicit. 2005/6 were really busy years for me with no home internet and too much grad school, so I wasn't necessarily reading the papers every day, but did the out of court settlement really make the papers or anything? And if so, why didn't it become a thing until one (mostly) unknown comedian said something in 2014!?!
|
blase - 2015-02-09 Could have had something to do with the rise of social media. Twitter, Facebook etc. were just getting started around that time. Easier for the former "unknowns" to reach an audience now.

I never really liked this show and didn't even know it was still on but here are your stars.

I don't know what you haters are on about. This show was beautiful in terms of irreverence (although season 3 started to suck and I'm glad it got canceled.) This is my goto answer when people talk fondly of Family Guy and how offensive it is.
Four stars, only because Captain Hero made this damn show and he's not in this clip.

|
misterbuns - 2015-02-09 Captain Hero was a lazy rewrite of The Tick.
The show was the very worst of pop comedy at the time just like Family Guy is now. Irreverent? A pile of shit is also irreverent. This show did nothing new or interesting and never managed to tell a single story.
Ling Ling? That's chinese. Pokemon are Japanese. They can't even keep their premises straight.

infinite zest - 2015-02-09 Yeah, it always seemed like a poor man's TV Funhouse to me. Like, Ambiguously Gay Duo and the other cartoons are funny, but that's because they're for a minute or two. Actually, I think that's why I didn't care about this show, because Comedy Central was cancelling all their best stuff like Strangers with Candy and TV Funhouse and letting shows like this and South Park continue for what seemed forever. But if the rest of Drawn together has this sort of Wonder Showzen feel to it, then maybe I'll illegally download some episodes for free and not pay and laugh all the way to the bank, the blood bank! Muahaha

Stars for the end.
Also if he can't get it up then how come he's jerking off?

Wow. Ignoring the topical Cosby stuff, this show was apparently even worse than I remember.
