Dwarf Fortress, EVE Online: games that are more fun to read about than to play.

:(.. I watched more of them and they got less funny. Like, what started out as a normal pickup routine on a Sailor Moon-looking avatar escalated into making the girl cry saying they called her father, and that she doesn't even have that number because her parents are divorced and doesn't know where he is, and they kept at it until you can hear the mom (and ostensibly the new live-in boyfriend) come into the room asking "what the hell are you doing" and they keep at it, cursing at the parents. Congratulations, trolls, you got a 12 year-old girl in trouble and probably probably banned from something that helped her escape reality if only for a little while. Stick to adults and know when to quit guys.

Yeah these guys aren't as good as Esteban Winsmore.

I'm not sure you saw the same video I did. What I heard was after she told her parents on the mean old SL troll, they kicked her off of it and then had a conversation between themselves, not realizing that the microphone was transmitting, about how maybe second life is not for their daughter if she believes everything anyone says and continues to talk to people who ask to see her vagina.

I'd say the parents concerns are probably legitimate.

I guess that could be applied to any online game with live mic I guess.. it was still in the early days of online console gaming but I was working in a group home for kids with developmental disabilities and the R word was used all the time by other players. While I wasn't cool with it, they didn't really care because they had the opportunity to blast the living fuck out of whomever said it. It's kind of like that episode of Eastbound and Down where Kenny Powers gets called the F word says "It's not nice to call people 'faggot'.. faggot" and proceeds to kick the guy's ass in a car race. In SL you just seem kind of stuck until you can get the "police" on it, unless it's property you own. If everybody could just kick somebody out for walking down the street.. well, you probably get where I'm going.

It kind of reminds me of early POE-red and Derek's Cosplay. Sure, the trolling was funny at first but then people took it way too far. That's why poeTV has a 5th law.

I believe casually it is. The people on it now are on there for specific things like very specific role plays. Though, last time I was on it there was a couple of super cool sci-fi based areas that people had built for role playing and that was kind of cool. There was also a weekly Buddhist group I ran into. That was kind of weird though; they met up in SL in this cool temple looking place and then... sat... quietly for thirty minutes and then left.
