An electric guitar version of the Bond theme kicked in as the instructor detached his own parachute, lit a cigarette, threw the lighter onto a tanker truck, then landed on a snowboard that he jumped through the fireball with.

I am going to hell.

This happened to my parents' next door neighbors' dad, but without the happy ending. The guy was 90 years old. I think it was a heart attack and not a seizure but down he went and splat. Skydiving looks fun and I like to do fairly crazy things on skis and bikes and whatnot, but you'll never get me to jump out of an airplane. Glad everybody's alright.

When I took a tandem jump, even for that I had to sign a fairly open-ended waiver that said something close to "anything can happen and can likely kill you so, if it does, it's not our fault".

I want to go skydiving so bad, but I'm terrified of the idea.
