Back in the day when it was Europeans all clogging up our nation with weird food, at least they were white!

Y'know, since it's come up in wingnut circles recently thanks to Giuliani's recent "Obama doesn't love America" line, why isn't this guy, Pat Robertson, and all the other right wing clergy stapled to the GOP the way that Jeremiah Wright's "God Damn America" speech was attached to Obama?
I mean, the Wright quote is never given its full context:
"And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating her citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains, the government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton field, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing "God Bless America". No, no, no, not God Bless America. God damn America — that's in the Bible — for killing innocent people. God damn America, for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America, as long as she tries to act like she is God, and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent."
Yet the right is given a pass for actually saying God is wrathing all over the U.S.?

Why do you say tower of Babel "myth," btw? Is there some evidence that that never happened? Obviously the burden of proof is on the side saying that it did happen and all that, but I'm just genuinely interested in things like that. Do we have some reason to be certain it never happened? I'm asking from the point of view of ignorance, not someone trying to push any type of agenda.

betabox - 2015-03-16 Are you saying that it's entirely possible that a group of people actually were engaged in building a structure so grand that the creator of the universe and all in it felt threatened by man's hubris, and the best way that he could come up with to thwart their plans was to spontaneously cause them to speak different languages?
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that I'm certain this never happened.

Bort - 2015-03-17 betabox - dude is clearly saying that he doesn't buy the Tower of Babel story, but doesn't know enough to say why it couldn't be true. You could have told him about Proto-Indo-European and set a guy straight.
