Apparently, the Brady Bunch contains tons of mistakes and continuity errors because nobody working on it thought the show would be remembered beyond its initial run.

The show was a bizarre mix between well done filming and utter fluffy crap. It was oft repeated and ripped off (see: Step by Step) but it withstood the test of time because it kind of captured a time period where America was basically going crazy after decades of social repression and the Bradys just sort of ignored all that and had their own square dances and bought a car entirely with coupons. I love it for its willfully trying to picture the world in a more innocent light while sort of grudgingly acknowledging the nuclear family was moving on.
