Yeah, that's pretty much what I'd imagine Hell sounds like.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

Needs a John Cage tag.

Also, I like how their response to an out-of-tune piano is not to tune it, but to shred it.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-06-10

When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

When all you have is 88 hammers, fuck the nails, toss that shit in the grinder.

infinite zest - 2015-06-10

EH I don't get it. There was that sort of grinder thing in MK9 but I don't see what this has to do with Cage!

EvilHomer - 2015-06-11

John Cage, not Johnny Cage. He's a composer, like Philip Glass, only less commercial and more batshit.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-11

And you're probably thinking of either MK: Deception or MK: Armageddon. Deception had a twin upright grinder (Slaughterhouse) as well as a single horizontal grinder (Lower Mines), while MK:A had a couple of dual horizontal grinders (Lumbermill, Arena) and at least two separate milling wheels (Firewell, Armory).

MK9 had a number of excellent stage fatalities, but unfortunately they chose to leave out industrial grinders.

Hehe yeah I know. When I worked at the Opera I wore my 4'33" t-shirt a lot and worked with a lot of people who knew next to nothing about classical music. Which can be a problem with customers who are passionate about it, so prepared a couple seminars mostly so people wouldn't pronounce simple names wrong and such, but used Johnny Cage as an example.

TeenerTot - 2015-06-10

This made me a little bit sad. pianos are expensive.

chairsforcheap - 2015-06-10

the hammers are kicking away in a panic... yeah this is a gruesome scene for any musician.

gravelstudios - 2015-06-10

we had an old spinet piano in our basement for years. The thing was in terrible shape, nobody wanted it, and we'd been trying to find a way to get rid of it. The house across the street had just been foreclosed on. The piano was too heavy to lift all at once, so we rolled it, end over end, across the street and left it on the porch. The sounds it made were spectacular.

infinite zest - 2015-06-10

You can usually find them for free. I got mine from a church that just didn't need it anymore. It's kind of depressing but you can find really nice ones on Craigslist usually for free because the kids don't know what to do with it after their parents die :(

gravelstudios - 2015-06-11

I would argue that there's no such thing as a free piano. Cause once you obtain it, you have to get it into your house, which can be an expensive chore. We got our piano for 'free', but we had to keep it in storage for months trying to find a way to get it to our house. My dad finally just gave up and hired some piano movers. he didn't wan't for us to try to do it ourselves and end up destroying the thing, and it was just easier that way.
But, yeah, if you're willing to move it, old pianos can be had for cheap.

Raggamuffin - 2015-06-11

If it's very old and in bad condition, a piano won't be able to hold it's tuning without a lot of expensive repair work. When it costs as much to fix as just getting a new piano, well...I guess that's what you bought the industrial shredder for.

Raggamuffin - 2015-06-11

Although, if I had a piano I wanted to destroy, I'd donate it to comedy so that it could drop on someones head from out of nowhere.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-06-10

Just off camera, there's a girl in a wheelchair watching this, sobbing and clutching a songbook to her chest.

EvilHomer - 2015-06-10

You've got a really knack for taking an otherwise enjoyable video, and making it ten times hotter.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-06-10

Nobody respects the uprights; the whole system's set against them. Damn those stinking grandies, always keeping honest, hardworking school pianos down!

MORE RIGHTS FOR UPRIGHTS

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-06-10

Word on the street is that Saddam Hussein had one of these that was used exclusively for people.

BiggerJ - 2015-06-10

What's this sites 'skippable intro ends at' record? The longest I know of is 45 seconds on this video - http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=92898
