What, he just pounded a tube to shoot out a load of hot creamy yogurt into a little girl's mouth. What's wrong with that.

So, this was intended to go viral for being risque, right?

fedex - 2015-06-13

no, you're thinking of GoSpurt

infinite zest - 2015-06-13

I doubt it.. I think viral "OMG BANNED" advertising went out a while back, with those dumb Skittles commercials that turned out to be just some people wanting to make a risque skittles commercial, the Nutrigrain ad which was the same.. Gogurt's a pretty niche market aimed almost entirely at school children: It makes more sense for a kid to have that in a lunchbag that can get knocked around than a regular thing of yogurt. Kids aren't gonna read into this as a comeshot.

fluffy - 2015-06-14

Kids might not but this was made by adults

infinite zest - 2015-06-14

True, but I'm guessing that more American adults don't know what a comeshot is than those who do. Actually that would be an interesting survey! Chances are there were some people who reviewed and greenlighted this commercial who wanted to say something, but then everyone would know they watched porn. It was probably exactly like the Grapist sketch from WKUK.

I don't know, I've only known a handful of professional advertisers but I was left with a very strong impression that a not insignificant part of that industry operates on a "take a bunch of drugs and see what we can get away with" model.

Hell, one guy I used to know from playing show together ended up getting an advertising job in SF and their office had official, management sanctioned pot brownie Fridays every week, and he ended up getting treated to lunch by Shaq.

That last part's actually unrelated, though.

The more important thing, though, is that ads like this don't have mistakes in them, they're the most deliberate shit you can imagine. It's a VERY well established practice to use suggestive sexual imagery (and other, but usually sexual) in advertising that's actually designed to make the people seeing it feel UNcomfortable, because we tend to form stronger impressions for negative emotional reactions than from positive, and the goal of A list modern advertising isn't to inform us or make us feel good about the product, it's to create a strong impression on us so that in a few weeks when we're in the shop faced with a wall of dozens of basically identical products theirs will be the one our brain registers first. Given that we're in the middle of a bigger pedophile scare than the Stranger Danger 80s, this commercial seems particularly well calculated to hit the most sensitive taboos.

That's why one of the most successful ongoing marketing campaigns of all time was all based around A GIANT COCK WITH A VULVA ON THE END OF IT WEARING SUNGLASSES. http://tinyurl.com/pud8jxv

SYMBOLISM.

fedex - 2015-06-14

Yes, and those people are all unemployed now.

fedex - 2015-06-14

Oops that was a reply to Zest

infinite zest - 2015-06-14

I think it's on more during primetime, but take the Carl's Junior Hardees commercials with a hot chick deepthroating a burger. The sexuality is there no doubt but a small percentage would see it as eating out a pussy or an ass depending on the size of the burger, the rest would see it as just a hot chick eating a burger zero muff diving or such implications.

fedex - 2015-06-14

right, but those ads aren't aimed at children.

thats why those ad execs are unemployed now

glasseye - 2015-06-15

That anvil is way too high up for that dude. -_-
