It's good they will be exploring the little-known origins of Batman in this one.

infinite zest - 2015-07-12

I dunno, Zak Snyder's a bit of a nerd. In the opening credits he makes an unnecessary (but very necessary) homage to why Batman was only a figment of everybody's imagination, and this seems to treat Superman like that universe's Dr. Manhattan. I mean, haters gotta hate but the heart was there. In THIS universe Superman's Dr. Manhattan etc. etc. and it's maybe getting a little old, but it was kinda cool to see Superman doing what a Superman would do instead of fly through rings and try to stop people from whatever the fuck was Superman 4 about again

infinite zest - 2015-07-13

Sorry, talking 'bout talkin' about the watchmen and thinking about superman and thinkin' about the government sitting on the government.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-07-13

whoa whoa whoa

His parents were murdered by a criminal? I thought they were killed by a law-abiding citizen! this changes everything!

Hooker - 2015-07-12

Batman is angry about the Man of Steel disaster and is trying to stop it by making an even worse movie.

infinite zest - 2015-07-13

Maybe batman is hungry is all.

This is what happens when you don't get Ben a goddamn plane.

Hailey2006 - 2015-07-13

God Hates Superman!
When did Batman become Iron Man and when did Wonder Woman become Xena?

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-07-13

I reckon a good chunk of the plot of this is taken from 'the dark knight returns' by Frank Miller, wherein batman does beat up superman in a giant mecha-batsuit (its quite a good comic btw)
Also, batman and iron man are very similar, both their main superpowers are money.

Two Jar Slave - 2015-07-13

So, a techno-karate cowboy wants to punch a handsome alien because the alien is too mighty for Earth? Conduct a survey of kids playing with toys in the bath and I think you'll find more engaging reasons to make these idiots duke it out.

I do like the way they're incorporating the backlash against Man of Steel's total destruction of innocent cities into the storyline of this one. It reminds me of Tommy Wisseau claiming he made a comedy on purpose.

StanleyPain - 2015-07-13

Just to re-cap how many fucking plates this movie is trying to keep in the air:

1. Introducing a new Batman.
2. Introducing the new Joker in an attempt to clumsily link it into Suicide Squad.
3. Introducing a new Lex Luthor.
4. Introducing Wonder Woman.
5. Introducing Doomsday (rumor has it the storyline is Lex using Kryptonite or some shit to turn General Zod's corpse into a monster)
6. Introducing Aquaman.
7. Introducing Cyborg.

gmol - 2015-07-13

More power to them if they pull it off...but I can't see how they can do this. Avengers started with many characters already "in play".

Kabbage - 2015-07-13

I'll admit I was pretty damn surprised to see Wonder Woman show up. Like... that's a whole other wing of backstory they're going to have to put together, utterly unrelated to Batman and Superman.

Actually kind of giddy at what a wonderful mess this is going to be.

StanleyPain - 2015-07-13

Also, Wonder Woman's powers are magical plus she's a demi-god. So...yeah..this will be interesting.

infinite zest - 2015-07-13

Yeah and like I said above, Zack Snyder's the right guy for the job. He and his team actually fixed the one problem I had with Watchmen the graphic novel. Since Alan Moore said he'd never watch them I thought the rewrite was kind of a cool middle finger to his squid monster thingy. I wonder if Moore even knows?

Anyway, 300 was shit, but so was the comic. Really not much to work with there. Man of Steel I still haven't seen all the way through.. it's pretty and I like what I saw but it was limited by trying to be another Iron Man or whatever other Marvel movie was out that summer and I still haven't finished it. Plus he likes Owls, so much to make some movie about CGI owls. And that movie kicks ass! So I think he knows what he's doing. He directs what he likes.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-07-13

The justice league cartoons handled this really well imo. I had no idea who half the heroes were and it wasnt explained. They just got on with the story, and what peoples powers were was obvious.

[also xmen films did this too]

infinite zest - 2015-07-13

Yeah, David Goyer's pretty good at this stuff. But David Hayter did it better because there was still a sense of fun in the X-Men movies that I feel Batman lacked. Batman Begins was kind of "woah look at this hardcore Batman" sort of fun, and the second one had one of the best performances by anyone ever in a motion picture, but you're kind of done with it by the third, or I was anyway. Hard to say how much of that's the screenwriter's fault but the gritty aspect fed right into the superman reboot. But like I said Snyder is much better suited for this than Nolan or the X Men Guy; even if his movies suck you can tell that he's making the kind of movie that he wants to see again and again and knows the source material so basically please don't suck! This has so much potential for awesome. Don't make me commit to getting another tattoo like I did with CHAPPiE!

TeenerTot - 2015-07-13

I'm kind of sad that all DC characters are zombies to me.
Will WW get her own movie? If so, will it have to be this same tired "gritty" crap?

Two Jar Slave - 2015-07-13

But didn't you know your childhood cartoons make a perfect platform for REAL LIFE PHILOSOPHY?

infinite zest - 2015-07-13

If I didn't want Gritty I'd just watch Teen Titans Go. The DC Universe is either too campy or too gritty.. there's really not much middle ground like V-wall superheroes like Deadpool to play around with in the universe. And they sort of did that themselves with Watchmen. So it's either the Batoosie on the big screen or this.

I dunno I'd watch the former.. but I'll watch this too.

15th - 2015-07-13

You'd have to pay me to watch this piece of shit or anything like it - ON ACCOUNT OF HOW SMART I AM.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-07-13

dude just imagine if you kept watching the movie over and over

you'd make like .85 an hour

15th - 2015-07-14

That's pretty close to my going rate. Hollywood is so boring now, which stinks. Look at top box office movies by decade. Start from the 70's and get bummed out.

memedumpster - 2015-07-14

Well, we'll still beat out 1915. I can't believe there hasn't been a reboot of Birth of a Nation yet.

SolRo - 2015-07-14

I wouldn't be surprised if a remake of that started filming very recently.

Bort - 2015-07-13

"Tell me, do you bleed? You will."

- Batman, teaching 5th grade sex ed

memedumpster - 2015-07-13

Nuclear Man better be in this motherfucker.

TeenerTot - 2015-07-14

Oh yeah!

Who knew you could make a god by throwing some DNA at the sun (or whatever the fuck they did in that movie)?

memedumpster - 2015-07-14

The Egyptians.
