That area of the world was a fucking disaster looooong before the US ever got involved. Muslims have been blowing themselves up and ruining their own countries and governments for centuries before some neo-con political agenda started dropping bombs on them. It's not bullshit. I strongly doubt ISIS would exist - especially in its current form - without our leaders having invaded Iraq.

You expect far too much from a region of the world carved to pieces a century ago - or more - by French and British Imperial powers. The United States gladly took it's turn and our leaders have been making it worse ever since, creating enemies where we had none. Religion is all a lot of these people have left.

If we expect them to clean their houses we have to stop shitting on their kitchen floors and know when we're not welcome.

ISIS is a direct result of the US revolutioneering in Syria, when that didn't work out perfectly (like it always does - see Egypt, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia).

The US then sent a bunch of weapons to "the good guys".

The 'good guys' then had a fight and split into slightly less radical terrorists and full blown ISIS, with plenty of weapons already at hand.

A few centuries ago the middle east was the most civilised part of the world.
The 20th century conflicts can mostly be attributed to the drawing of random borders* by the British after world war 1, and the creation of Israel.
Once again a world power (this time the US) is similarly interfering.

*Anywhere on a map you see a dead straight line border between two countries there is most likely trouble there.
