James Gunn is probably my favorite big-time director right now, at least on par with John Carpenter in the 80s and early 90s. Super had its moments of greatness and it was through things like this before it decided to become an emotional rollercoaster of an indie movie, and Slither was just plain weird. But he manages to get Kaufman into all of his movies, like it's something he just wrote into his contract.

I only saw Guardians because I was caregiving (that's how I see most movies in theatres) and was prepared to tune out like I normally do, but then I was like "woah this is actually good!"

Also, what is it with Troma and always finding the prettiest actresses for their films? Kennel Girl: WOULD.

Holy shit, I don't usually presume to tell artists how to do their work, but there are a ton of soundbites in this which would be perfect for Boomer's radio show!

For example, at 11:00 - "Wow! That sounds cool, Roxie! Let's see your DOGGIE DANCE!"

One thing I am disappointed with, however, is the serious lack of pitbulls. There is one running around in the park/ dream sequences, but he (she?) does not have a speaking role. I hope that if they make Volume 2, Lloyd and his friends will correct this oversight.

Yeah really. Pit Bulls get a bad reputation in the dog world, obviously, as do Rottweilers for completely arbitrary reasons. I used to work with a pit bull who was a rescue dog from a dog fighting ring (she'd greet customers at the door and bounce up on the counter); basically she wasn't good enough for fighting or something so she was abandoned in a basement. My Charley is still my favorite but that dog was so sweet and probably endured some shit that almost none of us humans could comprehend. It leads me to believe that the Pit Bulls are more like humans in terms of cognitive functions. They know good from bad, as opposed to the other dog, a really sweet chocolate lab, who would happily follow anybody anywhere like cats often do.

This is right up there with Garden of the Dead (the boring, no budget 70s movie about zombies that huff) in the Troma reissue pantheon.

Holy shit. I watched this 3 times today but didn't think to check imdb or the original video. I just thought it was something Kaufman was in, sort of like how Vivica A Fox is in Cool Cat and movies like Kill Bill. This was a real Troma film? That's awesome! Can I favorite this again?

Oh, I love these kinds of movies for soundbites, Homer! I use tons of obscure Doggie films and audio from podcasts when I can find it. I have bites from Hot Dog on the Archies series, Heidi Four-Paws, Dr. Dolittle's Lucky, Fluppy Dogs, Corneil and Bernie, Woof! and many others I've been collecting over the years, anything that's cute, sarcastic, sexy, or said by a famous talking Dog is great for the radio show. I just got started watching Where My Dogs At, which should produce some good quotes.

To introduce this, I'd probably do a mix of different cuts from it that lasts for a few minutes, and put it in Doggy's intro, then use the individual bites between or on top of songs where it's just a beat or something that's great for a drop on.

Already the 'Doggie dance' quote could go with the song I play called Doggie Dance, 'flap your ears, wag your tails, do the Doggie dance'. The song already has a spoken intro though.

Lots of Dogs, no Pit Bulls huh? The full movie could have them. Maybe these pooches are all owned by the people who made the movie, and no one had a Pitbull.

Yeah.. Kelsey and Riley are also referred to as twins. They may have come from the same litter but that doesn't make them twins I don't think.. when I had kittens I had like seven of those guys and they weren't twins, just brother and sister. Also I mentioned it above but Gunn and Pam from The American Office were married at the time this was filming; I hope the dialogue between the two didn't heat up off set and cause arguments that end in divorce.

I'm not sure if you can do that on here. I've tried too for long videos. But I'm glad you didn't. This is required watching. Especially the songs!
