Looking down the list of all time favorites, I get the impression that people aren't favoriting as much as they used to. Like, don't get me wrong, Norm McDonald Intentionally Bombs is always a classic, but I've seen better Norm clips on here that just get a five star, maybe a few favorites, leave the front page and forgotten about. And that's just one example.

It's not anything against the top favorites list or anything, all of those videos are great, but it's kind of like reading the billboard top 100 from 2010.

The first Youtube video I ever shared. I hate that I'll be dead in 20 years, maybe 25 if I lose a few pounds, but I love being old enough to still be amazed at the world in which I find myself. One thing that's brand new about internet video is the intimacy. Boxxy talks to the camera, and you don't know what the fuck she's talking about, but you feel like you're eavesdropping on a real conversation. For the first 45 years of my life, whenever I saw someone talking to camera like that, I always knew there were people offscreen in a control room, someone behind a camera, but this felt like one person by herself with a camera talking to one person in front of a screen, even though that video passed the 20 million views mark just a couple of weeks ago.

The HEY CLIP video felt like it was shot during a slumber party. I'd never want to be at a slumber party with a couple of teenage girls, since my presense would ruin everything, and a camera crew at a slumber party would do the same thing. But now I feel like I know a little more about what it's like to be a teenage girl at a slumber party with another teenage girl, even if the video was actually shot on a Sunday afternoon.
