I'm curious as to whether Donald Trump can actually Bush II his way into the White House. He recently said he'd definitely put Sarah Palin in his Cabinet.

Which would be a great dystopia. Five dystopian stars.

TeenerTot - 2015-08-04

I'd kinda like to put Sarah Palin in a cabinet.

infinite zest - 2015-08-04

Even though she's a bit older than last time I'd still like to get into Sarah Palin's cabinet. Meow.

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-08-04

Shame on you.

chairsforcheap - 2015-08-04

i want to sniff the couch cushions sarah palin farted in. what were we talking about?

infinite zest - 2015-08-04

So you're saying if you met Sarah Palin at the bar, and she just said "let's go back to my place and fuck" and it didn't mean that you had to vote for her or anything, you'd say no?

SolRo - 2015-08-05

How drunk am I in this bar scenario?

Because I wouldn't fuck her sober, on moral grounds.

Charon - 2015-08-06

What if she paid you to piss in her face?

Doomstein - 2015-08-04

He's the president that America deserves.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-04

He's like the Baldwin version of one of those poorly molded, bootleg action figures Ashens loves.

Two Jar Slave - 2015-08-04

Here's a question that's come up for me: exactly how much social/political currency does "not afraid to speak his mind" grant someone in a U.S. election cycle? Is this just a weak line railbirds use to defend their hopelessly antagonistic presidential picks, or does it carry actual weight? When a voter enters the booth, is this factor on his mind?

Hooker - 2015-08-04

Mitt Romney was more terrified than anyone of speaking his mind and he still spoke his mind too much that it cost him the election.

betabox - 2015-08-04

I don't know if it will garner votes (sadly, it probably will), but the fact that nearly all politicians are two-faced, untrustworthy, and obviously pandering to one group or another really does piss a lot of voters off. If there's anything you can say about Trump, it's that he's not scripted or 'polished.'

SolRo - 2015-08-04

"two-faced, untrustworthy, and obviously pandering to one group or another"

...is exactly what trump is, he's just much, much better at it than the other guys.

Konversekid - 2015-08-05

It's all sheepdogging. Every major party does it. You bring in your radicals, your idealists, your characters and your big-mouths for primaries or leadership races and push them to run to wrangle people into supporting the party. Anyone behind Trump knows that he is clown and probably will fall apart before things heat up in the primaries, let alone have a chance against Hilary. But he'll speak to the 'no-bullshit' conservatives and republicans (unhappily repressed racists, anti-PC zealots, business sociopaths, etc), increasing party membership and very likely the support for whoever does win the nomination.

That is to say, lots of people like this stuff and would vote for this, but the GOP would not settle for it. They will however exploit every chance they can get of being the covertly racist party if it will win them elections.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-08-05

No. No, he cannot. For many, many reasons.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-08-05

It gets you some headlines in primary season before the base congeals around a real candidate. You get a temporary bump in the polls, but in the long term, "speaking your mind" always turns out to be a liability, not an asset, which is why so few politicians do it.

Space Odin - 2018-01-26

"Anyone behind Trump knows that he is clown and probably will fall apart before things heat up in the primaries, let alone have a chance against Hilary."

Hi! I am the ghost of comments past. I too was once like you ("lol they're going to try to run President Scott Walker"). please help us oh god please send help.

Hooker - 2015-08-04

Stephen Baldwin! You're a renowned total fucking idiot. Who is your favourite presidential candidate right now?

DONALD TRUMP!

hammsangwich - 2015-08-04

Isn't Alec Baldwin a Democratic shill? I guess Stevey is trying to get some attention.

SolRo - 2015-08-04

He's a sad shell of a man.

He's still trying to get attention all these years after realizing he will never be as successful or respected as his brother.

People with half a brain would have just found something else enjoyable to do for a living, but not Stephen....he'll do as many b-movies as it takes to match Alecs financial accomplishments.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-08-04

"Stephen Baldwin! You're a renowned total fucking idiot. Who is your favourite presidential candidate right now that you'd like to fuck?"

DONALD TRUMP!

There, I fixed it for you, Hooker.

infinite zest - 2015-08-05

I really liked him in Unusual Suspects but I guess that was 20 years ago

yogarfield - 2015-08-05

5 for lesser baldwin, because you really have to work hard for that title.

Bus_Aint_Comin - 2015-08-05

anytime "s/he's not a politician!" is used as a rationale for a candidate's legitimacy, i always mentally transfer it to other professions:

"Why do you think this guy will be a good plumber?"
"Because he's NOT a plumber!"

"Why do you think this guy will make a good programmer?"
"Because he's NOT a programmer!"

"Why do you think this guy will be a good getaway driver?"
"Because he's NOT a getaway driver!"

ad infinitum. Is an educated electorate too much to ask for?

Sexy Duck Cop - 2015-08-05

Exactly. In what other field is a lack of experience an asset?

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-08-05

But plumbers and programmers aren't directly associated with the kind of intense corruption that politicians are so I think it is a bit different. The association I have of politicians is extremely negative and distrustful. I would LOVE an outside to come in with their own agenda to clean up Washington and get a bunch of shit DONE without having to worry about their corporate masters they need to suck up to and please.

Just not this fucktard.

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-05

Porn?

Old_Zircon - 2015-08-05

That was a response to Sexy Duck Cop.

Bus_Aint_Comin - 2015-08-18

so there's no crooked plumbers? you're obviously a renter.

Toenails - 2015-08-05

Hey, I'm not a politician! Hey Steven Baldwin, vote for me!
