Actually not really too evil, let's say.
The game's publisher sells a series of experiential games on squicky historical issues, like the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. There's also one where you try to thrive in plague-ravaged Europe.
The slave-stacking is ill-advised, but historically accurate, and it seems like the objective of the game is to escape slavery. It may not be a polished product, but I wouldn't expect the blatant racism and homophobia I'd expect out of a Stormfront first-person shooter.

Killer Joe - 2015-09-02 No, I don't think its racist, and if might be a very interesting game if it played the adventure angle straight. But the 'historically accurate' slave tetris is just a terrible idea.
Awful.
All I could think to trump that would be tetris-ing corpses into a mass grave for bonus points.

MongoMcMichael - 2015-09-02 Unfortunately, it WAS pretty historically accurate. That's really the horrible part of it.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-09-03 Thats incredible. I bet you the guys who drew up that plan even thought they were being very generous and humanitarian as each slave has enough room to lie down. They could pack in even more if they all had to stand.

Old_Zircon - 2015-09-04 Nah, I bet he just realized more of them would die on the way if they stood, I doubt it had anything to do with anything other than profit margins.
Basically, think "what would Wal-Mart do with their workers if they were completely unburdened by legal regulations?" and you'll get in the same ballpark.

Doesn't look completely accurate. Even white cabin boys would get abuse far beyond this captain's insults.
