I hope they bring back Scrappy! Scrappy-Doo was cool, and no amount of aging hipster retconning can change the fact that, back in the 80s, he single-paw'edly saved the show from cancellation.

Except they've rebooted it like six times already, and some of those reboots were actually really good and had Lewis Black in them, instead of trying to be The Cleveland Show with Fake Ghosts.

Blame it on all the pot I was smoking in high school if you want, but I always liked the fake ghosts vs the real ones, and that Shaggy was the only one stoned enough to understand scooby, etc. Once paranormal activity started happening and everybody could understand scooby and scrappy I stopped caring.

Also was I still high but was the SIlver Scooby Doo also a Robot, or were those two different dogs, half dogs machines dOGS or what have you?

I don't get any Gravity Falls from the art style, but the cuts from the commercial make it feel like a horrid Seth romp.

There are countless animated shows on TV that "borrow" stylistic traits from Family Guy, which borrowed from The Simpsons before it. They're using a visual language to inform the viewer of the style of joke: bad ones.

I understand that, but people keep making references to MacFarlane here and I don't see any involvement from him.

He does want to do a Flintstones reboot, though.

I am kind of amazed that Frank Welker is a) still alive and b) dedicated to further retreads of his least interesting character.

Then again why do I care? And why does anybody care? CN, among other things, are rebooting Bugs Bunny. In either show's defense, they seem a little more back-to-basics than Scooby Doo Meets The Rock, or Bugs Bunny and Friends go 90s Hip Hop, but these are aimed at kids, who could probably care less that Dad's favorite Looney Tunes were updated with a few #hashtag jokes (yes the Bugs Bunny Cartoon, "Wabbit," has them, like that's a surprise.) Teen Titans Go! works because nobody remembered the franchise, so there were no basics to go back to, unless you really follow comics.

I don't regularly watch them, but I do think that originals with the humor that appeals to modern kids' sensibilities are great: Gumball, Clarence, Regular Show and all the rest have been part of a renaissance in childrens' cartoons that we haven't really seen since the days of SNICK, so it's sad to see another lazy attempt at another reboot of a classic, even if it looks more promising than the other ones I didn't watch.

It'll all come together when one of the suspects is a grizzled fat lady who cryptically talks and tosses meat at the gang.
