No I haven't. Sorry I don't have any change.

As ridiculous as this is, in my opinion, this ad is actually a pretty skillful explication of a common, almost universal myth (among heterosexual males, I think of it as THE myth) .

I submit that "The Magic Pussy Palace, where women treat you with the respect and love that you deserve"" is a pretty good representation of what we grow up dreaming of as horny adolescents, just like "Prince Charming" is a pretty good representation of the romantic fantasies some women grow up with. Adulthood can be a rude awakening-- for those who actually wake up..

I further suggest that the MPP myth is great for selling shit, therefore it is reinforced by the culture over and over and over again., so that some of us outgrow it slowly, some of us never outgrow it, and nearly all of us will respond when it is evoked.

I further suggest that the current obsessive backlash against feminism is powered by millions of young men trying to reconcile their expectations with reality. This isn't to deny that 21st century feminism isn't sometimes horrible, and needs to be criticized, but there's a whole lot of adolescents of all ages out there who are pretty much lashing out at feminism as the supposed cause of the world not being the way it's supposed to be.

The PUAs, MGTOWs, TFLs and even the so-called "nice guys" are all desperately trying to figure it out. Men are placed in a horrible position. We're brought up to need women to make us feel like men, we're expected to be the aggressor, and feminism, while necessary, hasn't made that easier. We have to be aggressive without being creepy. This may come naturally to some, but I'll confess to being completely lost.

The main problem with feminism is that it's left us behind. Women are independent now, but men are as dependent as ever. . That's not feminism's fault. It's up to men to free themselves, the same way women have.

Sexism may have been invented by men, but those men have been dead for a long, long time. Those of us who are here now are trying to make our way in a world that doesn't prepare us for life as successful adult men in the modern world. We prepare our daughters for life in the 21 century, because we want them to be strong. We still prepare our sons for life in the 20th century, because we want them to be "strong".

I've been writing for an hour, and I'm just going to post this. I'm not going to proofread it, so there will probably be some botched sentences. And when I come back to read this tomorrow, there may be some obvious flaws in my thinking. Time will tell

Women love men who talk a lot.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-30

Oh my god, JR! Did we just see that?!! John Holmes delivered a chair shot to the back of Feminism's head! She's laid out, laid out cold! And now he's, he's celebrating in the ring with MRA! John and MRA, they just shook hands! That SONOFABITCH, they just shook hands!!!

This is the craziest RAW ever!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-30

Homer, it's not like I haven't said this a dozen times in here: the problem with the current Men's Rights Movement, as expressed in hundreds of batshit insane blogs and youtube videos, is that it blames feminism for the damage done to men by sexism, and that anything other than men and women joining forces to transcend sexism will never succeed, there will only be more heartbreaking stalemate, more suffering, more losing of shit.

I've been more critical of feminism ever since shirtgate, when someone first explained microaggression theory to me.

EvilHomer - 2015-09-30

"Shirtgate"?

EvilHomer - 2015-09-30

Also, where are the dancing cats? You should have included a chorus line of dancing cats, all with giant Photoshopped penises.

Scrimmjob - 2015-09-30

Having a rock hard dick does in fact guarantee that you'll be having sex with a real live woman in no time!

TeenerTot - 2015-09-30

I don't get it. The joke here, I mean.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-30

Shit, I just spent twenty minutes replying to this , and the fucking cat stepped on the mouse and somehow deleted it just as I was about to post. So I'll be brief.

Do you mean the ending? My best friend is a 69 year old woman, and a feminist. She didn't get it either. I guess it's not as clear I intended.

To me, Anita Sarkeesian represents the irrational fear of woman's power that is misogyny, to the extent that thousands of men fear that some talky youtube videos can have a greater influence over a huge industry than market forces. I don't know to what extent she's correct about video games, but I'm more impressed at how she made them lose their shit!

The last image, with the Wilhelm scream, is intended as the representation of that fear, as the intended audience of this video, thinking he is about to receive the keys to the Magic Pussy Palace, is abruptly confronted with the reality of an intelligent outspoken women. Like most jokes, it's not that funny when you explain it, but I'd rather you understand it than laugh at it.

It's there because I needed an ending, and because i didn't want to mention the actual product that is being advertised.

>> The last image, with the Wilhelm scream, is intended as the representation of that fear, as the intended audience of this video,

So, by "intended audience", you mean what, exactly? How many people do you think will be watching this video, going all the way seven+ minutes to the end, the whole time thinking that they were about to learn a brilliant PUA trick? And of those people, how many do you suppose will be deathly, irrationally afraid of whatshername, that one chick who doesn't like video games?

Does this intended audience of yours actually exist, or are you tilting at windmills?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-30

I can't tell if Homer's fucking with me, which usually means he's fucking with me.

>>So, by "intended audience", you mean what, exactly?

I'm talking about guys to whom the creators of the original advertisement hoped to sell "special beans", i.e. supplements.

>>Does this intended audience of yours actually exist, or are you tilting at windmills?

I'm not the one selling a remedy for impotence. Therefore, it's not MY intended audience, and I'm not tilting at windmills.

>>How many people do you think will be watching this video, going all the way seven+ minutes to the end, the whole time thinking that they were about to learn a brilliant PUA trick? But this is your channel, not the penis enlargement guy's channel. Your joke needs an audience. If your joke only works for a very specific audience, and nobody in your audience fits the bill, then what's the point of making it?

Let's say I was going to make a video, and I came up with this REALLY FUNNY joke - one which could only be understood by a 4th century Latin-speaker. Obviously, there will be no 4th century Latin-speakers watching my video, and obviously, no-one will get the joke.

It's the same way here. Your intended audience doesn't exist; that is why nobody gets the joke, not even your best friend.

TeenerTot - 2015-10-01

Mmmokay. Thanks.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-10-01

Like i said, the joke is only there because I needed an ending, and because I didn't want to name the product being sold. The joke isn't the point of posting this video. This video is submitted as a cultural artifact, a document of TOXIC MYTHS ABOUT GENDER, which is a term that I find more specific, less discriminatory, and more gender neutral than the vaguely offensive "TOXIC MASCULINITY".

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-10-01

I think the audience exists, the joke fails because it fails. It happens too fast for the viewer to comprehend, and it's easy to think I'm mocking Anita, especially since Anita gets targeted over and over on a daily basis.
