I'd agree.. one thing I really liked about Ground Zeroes was how theatrical the entire thing was.. Kiefer Sutherland actually kinda messes up a few lines in Phantom Pain, like they were recorded in his sleep or inside of a christmas tree. As for Skullface, I won't say anything depending on where you are in the game; the fedora and all screams coffeeshop reddit blogger speak, but keep playing and this voice sort of makes sense..

It's a masterpiece. I skipped Sons and Revengence so I can't say I know the whole story but I love how I think about iPhone earbuds and soundtracks in general now; anachronisms that would appear in Kubrick films wouldn't be questioned but here I am wondering why a Cure song from the 90s was in the game, why I can be detected while guards don't seem to care that a horse goes up in a balloon and a mecha comes down in the same spot, and why lines like these were specifically created to create memes. I'll miss you Metal Gear

Also I made a comparison of Quiet's allergy to fabrics to Randy from Trailer Park Boys a few weeks ago and now I just got to the cheeseburger part..

After playing it all the way through, I can say that I feel it was one of the best games I've ever played, and yet I think it's the weakest Metal Gear Solid. I feel the loss of what was in all the other games, and I'll keep feeling it forever as phantom pain.

It plays like a comic book reads vs. a novel. Lots of unnecessary characters and other things that are seemingly forgotten by the next chapter. And this includes our friend here, Skullface, who I think is just a combination of Volgin and The Fury from MGS3, like they were fused together or something in the explosion. I hope I'm wrong and surprised but I feel I'm right. And that's about as dumb as my True Detective theory, which I was also right about: Awesome show (especially the first season) but in the end, what the fuck.

I guess I don't mind it. Twist endings were what made MGS games great but that's been overdone almost as much as dream sequences are in TV shows. They were just new at the time for that medium. It's also why video game film adaptations never work. So, I dunno. I'm having fun doing whatever it is that I'm doing.. breaking little kids arms and fighting a man what's made of fire.

and punching goats putting them on balloons and still figuring out how to make my horse poop. Poor D-Horse must be super constipated after a month.
