You think that mass murders would somehow go away or greatly diminish because of legislation against guns? Is that seriously what you're suggesting?

Honestly, the only reason humans don't use cars to do it more often is that the vast majority of people capable of such abhorrent violence are also cowards. Killing someone with a vehicle is more personal. Guns have that simple point-and-click interface going for them.

Oh, guns make killing easier - sure - but pretending like guns are somehow the bigger problem when it comes to unnecessary deaths in this country, or that guns are SO MUCH MORE IMPORTANT as an issue of public safety, really shows your inability to think critically.

If you're so concerned with public safety and making sure people aren't irresponsible with dangerous tools, perhaps start with a bigger fish to fry - cars.

Cars are winning vs. guns. Cars aren't even designed to kill. And yet they are so much more efficient at it than guns. On a daily basis (during peacetime at least) guns pale in comparison even on their worst day to the senseless tragedies of cars.

Perspective. Get some. Kids much younger and in much higher quantities die DAILY for even less of a reason than the poor little girl in this story.

If you thought the moral of this story was "guns are bad", you're missing the whole fucking point. The moral of the story is pay attention to your goddamn kids, both physically and by staying connected to them and making sure you are aware of what's going on in their life. Even when their life consists of boring eight-year-old things. Maybe paying closer attention to the little psychopath who has a history of terrorizing your kid when he's around? Just a thought.

But yeah, it's the inert gun's fault and not the many failings of the adults involved in these childrens lives. Great observation. I mean, it's not like a child has EVER killed another child under similar circumstances with ANYTHING except a firearm! Drowning? Nope. Never. Stabbing? NOPE! Not in the history of this entire planet!
