We used to have an enormous yellow striped tomcat when I was a kid. One day, I saw him lying in his favorite spot on the patio table when a nesting mockingbird decided it didn't like him being so close to its nesting area.

The bird dive-bombed the cat a few times before the cat, almost casually, rolled slightly on his side and whapped the bird with a single slap. The bird spun through the air like a helicopter crashing in a 1980s action flick and hit the ground.

The cat rolled back onto his stomach. The bird flopped on the ground for a second, righted itself and quickly flew away.

The bird didn't buzz the cat ever again, but I could hear it shriek every time the cat went out to the table.

Watching these with the sound off really emphasizes just how useless and distracting all the CGI in modern nature shows is, but 5 for cats anyhow.

I read somewhere that housecats have 32 muscles in each ear.
