Maybe a Peter Davison tag?

Jet Bin Fever - 2015-10-30

Ah yeah, that weird BBC soft focus that makes everything look like it's glowing.

Wow! Never knew this existed! The movie was a good effort, but it felt like Guide to Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy For People Who Never Read Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. But I guess that's most movies, except for LotR which were better than the books (there I said it can't take it back!)

The BBC mini-series is great, but it greatly compresses the story.

The movie was written by Adams to exist on its own with its own identity away from the radio plays and the books which didn't sit well with a lot of people. I liked the movie, personally.

Potrod - 2015-10-30

I thought the movie was awful, both as an adaptation and as a movie in general. I love the BBC mini-series, though.

DIdn't know that. I should give it another chance. The whale scene did make me smile and I liked that Mos Def was Mr. Perfect; he's just awkwardly perfect in everything he's in.

I want to take a moment to mention that this old chestnut contains a Significant Ham Component:

Ham week is BULLSHIT without it

StanleyPain - 2015-10-30

Very true.

infinite zest - 2015-10-30

Heh.. I said that as well about the same video on a different Ham Week post this week and was thinking "fuckit I'm just going to resubmit Pickle Surprise again.." some of you guys were probably in short-pants when that was originally submitted!

crojo - 2015-10-30

That Trillian though. Darkest timeline.

Cena_mark - 2015-10-30

Ugh. I hate Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. The movie really sucked and I'm sure everything else sucks too.

I liked it because it was one of the first "grownup" books that I read, but damned if I can remember too much of the plot. But what I do remember is that when I read Gravity's Rainbow some years later, it kind of made sense to me because I had read HHGTG. LIke, the two novels are in no way related, but according to Adams nothing is, or everything is, I can't remember..

I'd say about half of it has aged pretty poorly.

No Babe or Charlotte's Web?

How the hell did ham week start anyway?
