Is it as unbearable as the promo clips made it seem??

I remember the trailer being posted on here and I said it looked awful, but maybe that's just the way things are going: Dinosaurs was pretty much the same concept, but using the 90s style sitcom as its springboard. Now, the sitcom's pretty much been replaced with Office-style mockumentaries like Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and all the others, so it's kind of the same thing I guess.

It's really bad. Kermit is a miserable asshole who hates his life and is thoughtless toward his friends, Piggy has gone from temperamental to straight-up abusive, and the show seems determined to make at least one joke per episode about Dr. Teeth smoking pot.

Apparently ABC is kind of embarrassed at the whole thing, because they fired the original showrunners and are replacing most of the writers. When the show comes back in January it's supposed to have a different vibe and status quo. Maybe it'll be like how season one of Parks and Rec felt like a totally different show?

I couldn't even handle Muppets in Space, there's no way I'm going to watch that new one. Last time I saw post Henson Muppets was when a local bar had that 90s Christmas movie on a loop in their bathroom. I was taking a leak and there was Animal doing a beer bong and I was just glad Jim wasn't alive to see what they'd done to his life's work.

It's kind of amazing that they thought The Muppet Show, a show that worked because, among other things, the characters existed in their own unique universe, should be a knockoff of a show that parodies white collar jobs. It's kind of impossible that they could further miss the point of The Muppets.

The 2011 Muppet movie was excellent.

I've heard that a lot, Nominal, but everything abut every clip and trailer I saw suggested otherwise.

Also: Dinosaurs was a great show. GREAT SHOW.

Mixed bag opinion here. I really liked the episode where Fozzie found out that Kermit hates his jokes and ran away to the woods and Kermit had to make amends, and also the one when Fozzie accidentally put Statler in hospital, and, when Fozzie visits him, he finds out that Statler isn't as nasty as he thought.

But any time the show focuses on romance and flings, I think it's terrible. Get that reality TV/tabloid garbage off the Muppets, damnit!

Yeah, five stars for that. Growing up, my father absolutely adored this film, and Emmet Otter was a kind of Christmas family tradition. "Shut up, Emmet" is going to forever change the way I look at it.
