Five preemptive stars against Bort.

I'd also recommend nakedcapitalism.com for several more economic arguments that back Sanders's positions.

They're also a wellspring of info against Clinton's economic stance.

Bill Black here is often featured there, as is Richard Wolff, and it's run by Yves Smith.

Nassim Nicholas Taleb and Yanis Vourifakis also write there occasionally.

Thanks, this guy is not the best representative they could have picked for an interview.

Bort - 2016-02-03

Roll out of bed and elect a Congress willing to enact these changes, hippie.

kingarthur - 2016-02-03

Because that Congress is going to be blue dog Democrats and.or establishment Democrats who basically have no accountability to the public due to campaign finance law, election rules, and gerrymandering. Riiiiight.

kingarthur - 2016-02-03

How about I just expatriate with my dual citizenship once my degree is done to a country with better election law and proportional representation. Something that better approaches actual democracy?

Then I just stand back and watch as America burns.

kingarthur - 2016-02-03

Til then, Sanders in the primary because it'll shake up the DNC a bit. Then, when he inevitably loses, vote for Stein in the general in order to give a real left party increased ballot access.

Bort - 2016-02-03

This is what gets me about you and yours: you don't like the actual plan that might work (which is to take back Congress in much the way the Right took it over and it will likely be a long and difficult process), so instead you put all your faith in the guy who tells you to vote for him and not worry your pretty little head about the details. Well sooner or the later the details matter, and that's when it'll be clear you've been played. You probably won't be voting in midterms, though.

Democracy is messy because it involves lots of people with lots of opinions, and progressive governance is not some birthright of yours that has been stolen from you. You need to put good people in office (protest votes are a bitch move), you need to persuade your fellow citizens to join you, and you should have started in 2010.

Hazelnut - 2016-02-03

"progressive governance is not some birthright of yours"

A bit ironic given Hillary and Jeb were the two candidates who thought they were so entitled to the nomination that they got caught off guard when anyone dared vote off the script. Twice, in Hillary's case.
