"Bob, you're drunk, go home"

Guy is literally a living old meme.

Old_Zircon - 2016-06-26

Something about this makes me sypathize with Bob, though. I've been in situations where I (or someone else) worked at least as much/well as anyone else but for one reason or another was an outsider in the workplace and ended up getting more criticism and blame for problems than anyone else, and it can be brutal. I've been fortunate in that when it's been me it's always been at places that I could just leave if it got too bad, but if you've got no alternatives it would be hell.

I doubt this is the first time Bob has come to work drunk and angry but I also doubt that it's happening in a vacuum.

Old_Zircon - 2016-06-26

But he definitely should go home, no matter how patronizing his coworkers are about it.

I've had some awful jobs over the years too, but I methodically crafted my teens and twenties to be void of any major financial responsibilities - no kids, cheap car payments, no loans over a grand ect. If I was treated like shit, I'd could just tell them to go kick rocks.

Looking back on some of them, if I was still there, I'd probably be a cagey drunk too. Use as much coolant as you see fit, Bob.

You can't put four humans in proximity and give them a common task without it devolving into this.

It happens every single time.

Humans need to be told when they're young that there are tried and true methods long held to be the way to get shit done, and no one can apply them without screaming shit flinging drama, so good luck working a lifetime amongst your own kind.

Maybe kids should not be told this, actually.

memedumpster - 2016-06-26

There is one exception, and that's Movie Night, but only because we're all Ayelmer addicts.

SolRo - 2016-06-26

Good advice for kids would be 'Unless someone is doing something inherently dangerous or specifically asks for help, just don't pay any attention to their work. That's your bosses job.'

memedumpster - 2016-06-26

That's why the Challenger and Colombia exploded.

memedumpster - 2016-06-26

On the other hand, that would spell the end of church fundraisers overnight, so a universal broadside to quality control would probably be worth it.

SolRo - 2016-06-27

You're wrong, but I guess that sounds like a nice comparison if you didn't know the back story to either event

simon666 - 2016-06-26

Could use a "poetv watches itself" tag

Born in the RSR - 2016-06-26

I'm voting for Bob to be the new patron saint of PoeTV.

Nominal - 2016-06-26

You are voting against KILLDOZER and I will have no part of it, sir.

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-06-26

misunderstanding his employees screams of "bob has lost his marbles" mr simmons bursts from his office for the last time

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-06-26

also, if there was ever a time time to utilize the "jorts" tag...

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-06-26

Imagine going back to work the next day, sober, after showing up drunk and acting like this.

simon666 - 2016-06-26

Same sort of incident occurs except Bob is denying he _was_ drunk.

Xenocide - 2016-06-26

I refuse to imagine a scenario in which I go to work sober.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-06-27

I'd give you stars if I had any left Xeno.

Robin Kestrel - 2016-06-26

Bob is the boss's son. Bob is going to be okay.

crasspm - 2016-06-26

Now what's Bob gonna do now that he can't drink?

The Mothership - 2016-06-26

That looks like a machine shop. Bob shouldn't drink at that place of work or Bob might lose appendages.

fedex - 2016-06-27

aaand its gone! pity, I never got to see it

Adham Nu'man - 2016-06-27
