William Burns - 2016-07-29 It didn't show up on dupe check, I swear!

I know it's a classic, but this was probably one of the worst (popular) brawler games. Controls and mechanics were awful. It survived entirely on the franchise and some cute enemy design.
You'd have to dip into obscure shit like Combat Tribes before you found worse brawlers.

EvilHomer - 2016-07-29 It did come out on consoles. It was released on PS3.
Cena_mark - 2016-07-29 I meant at the time. At the time it wasn't released for Sega Genesis or SNES so I had to make due with the horrible Simpsons games made for consoles.
dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-07-29 Sadly you can no longer buy it EvilHomer. I envy the people who got it while it was available. It mysteriously vanished one day from PSN and later XBL with no explanation.
Oh well, MAME it is.

Nominal - 2016-07-30 Final Fight and Aliens vs Predator are still fucking awesome.
poorwill - 2016-07-30 Yeah, Capcom's stuff is mostly legit.
Sanest Man Alive - 2016-07-29
Violent Storm was a much better Konami beat-em-up; Hit and Run was a much better Simpsons game.
But then, this came out well before both of those, so of course it's pretty janky and rough, and an unabashed quarter devourer.
B_Ko - 2016-08-02 I have Violent Storm and Simpsons machines. I keep Violent Storm in my house. I refuse to play the Simpsons.
dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-07-29
The most fun I ever had at an arcade was when three complete strangers and I played through this whole game on a machine at the arcade on the Redondo Beach pier. Which is, surprisingly, still in business.
poorwill - 2016-07-29
I rushed in here red-faced and wheezing, all ready to let loose about how overrated this and all the other licensed Konami beat-em-ups are and how Violent Storm is waaaaay better, because I'm a huge pathetic nerd, but I see I've already been beaten to it. 5 stars for that.
Sanest Man Alive - 2016-07-29 Vendetta was pretty good too, and the Japanese version had leathermen that would hump you to death.
Sanest Man Alive - 2016-07-31 Oh, and Sunset Riders! That game was tits. Less of a beat-em-up and more Rolling Thunder with cowboys, though.
cognitivedissonance - 2016-07-29
Baleen, CornontheCabre, and Betamaxed played this with me about a year ago in Tacoma. It was grand. We let a random kid swap in and he said "Why doesn't Homer punch Mr. Burns in the show?"
Cube - 2016-07-30 It's sad that children these days don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the first ten seasons of The Simpsons. In episode Homer The Smithers he does exactly that!
Raggamuffin - 2016-07-29
The unbearable sadness of playing a game like this solo.
Xenocide - 2016-07-30
Based on the classic episode where Smithers is suddenly a jewel thief and the Simpsons beat like 200 people to death while walking slowly to the right. John Swartzwelder considers it his finest work.

Ugh - 2016-07-30
that uncomfortable moment when you want to play but the only free slot is Lisa
Kid Fenris - 2016-07-31
This lacks the game's best detail: Marge's hidden rabbit ears.
Jeriko-1 - 2016-08-01
Remember that time on the Simpsons Smithers was a bomb throwing psychopath and they killed Mr. Burns?
