This is the guy with all the Klein bottles under his house, in a miniature crawlspace warehouse with a junk robot as a forklift. Five stars for cliff.

I have an electric slide rule: only at weddings.

EvilHomer - 2016-08-10

I don't get it. Is it so you can calculate the number of guests?

Gmork - 2016-08-10

Nice one, teen.

I never had to use a slide rule in college but did have to understand how they work. I also had one printed into the bezel of my watch.

I'm guessing the cutoff point is about age 50: much older than 50 and you were in school before electronic calculators were a thing (mid 70s), so engineering would require a slide rule.

Bort is younger than that but is colossal enough of a nerd that he can do slide rules. Never learned chisanbop, though.

We had a box of slide rules in the supply cabinet at my middle school. Nobody had used them for years, so they let me take a couple home. I keep one in my desk drawer just in case.

Electric slide rule,
it's so nice,
multiply numbers side by side,
my baby loves electric numbers,
sliding up and down,
all over the town,

thank you.
