Idiot wants to talk to his supervisor like he is at Costco or something. Goes out of his way to escalate a situation for no reason. They handled that pretty well.

SixDigitDebt - 2016-09-13

That moment you confuse law enforcement professionals with fast food customer service representatives.

5 for stupid

Cena_mark - 2016-09-13

At least it wasn't crack. He'd be in real deep doo doo if it was crack.

That guy - 2016-09-13

point taken

EvilHomer - 2016-09-14

This is true. Cocaine is the drug that built America and beat the Communists. Crack is merely a job-creator for the prison-industrial complex.

Hopefully they will send this young man to a white-collar prison, where he and his cellies can trade tips on cocaine and derivatives fraud.

That guy - 2016-09-13

This isn't a complex issue. Let's see if mid-September 2016 poetv can handle it.

Hint: baleen's desc: is ir_nic.

15th - 2016-09-14

Irenic

Bus_Aint_Comin - 2016-09-14

iranic?

Hazelnut - 2016-09-14

I don't know if I like these iron-enriched descriptions; they come of as prissy.

How about a compromise: we all agree that an idiotic YouTuber only represents his race / class / gender / religion / politics if it is a grouping that SolRo disapproves of?

baleen - 2016-09-15

Well you see, I yanked this off a law enforcement thread, and yes, unfortunately, people think of things kind of dualistically. I don't have to remind you that there are plenty of Americans that think BLM is just racist, lazy black people whining (or black criminals shooting cops) and if they share videos of bad black people it means that BLM is stupid. Well it's not stupid, it means something to a lot of people for a lot of good reasons, but some of those people happen to be stupid, and a few of them happen to be horrible.

That guy - 2016-09-15

Hazelnut's joke (if taken seriously) and baleen's comment are like the mongoose vs snake war for the minds of humanity.

Hazelnut - 2016-09-15

I actually like Baleen's word 'dualistically'. And that's the thing: those oh-so-ironic description lines don't sound like you're criticising narrow-minded dualists. They sound like you're just as narrow as orcs or SolRo, seeing the world through some 'you're either with me or you're THE ENEMY' filter.

That guy - 2016-09-15

Polarized thinking is one of the fancy names for this, and it's plaguing the fuck out of US politics right now.

It's always present, yeah. But right now? ugh

blue vein steel - 2016-09-13

wait, why is the steering wheel on the right in what looks like a Dodge Charger? That's honestly the most confounding thing about this for me.

TheyUsedDarkForces - 2016-09-14

The video is flipped or something... and I think he said that he's in a Crown Vic, not that it'd matter for LHD vs RHD.

chumbucket - 2016-09-14

Under arrest for being straight up annoying.

EvilHomer - 2016-09-14

He could have handled things a lot better, but it DOES seem pretty bogus that they wrecked his life over this. (the Blue Life Matterers who are passing this video around emphasize our hero's alleged cocaine use, but apparently the authorities only uncovered evidence of cocaine-use some time *after* he had been arrested.) Arresting this poor man was both acceptable and inevitable, as he refused to sign the traffic ticket, and to the best of my knowledge you can, in any state, be arrested for not so-signing - but the way the authorities fucked him after-the-fact is a really good reminder of why people, especially people of color, need to know their rights, and how best to deal with crooked cops. Our police officer friends can be a very helpful part of the community - but they are basically the Dalit Varna, and should be treated as such.

Keep your mouth shut, don't consent to searches, ask if you are being detained and, if you are not, ask if you can go.

That guy - 2016-09-15

In that case, I will have to stand corrected.
I couldn't sit through the whole thing, so it appears that I may have jumped to conclusions here.

But that wasn't my point here, ultimately. I was after this:

An anecdote is an anedote, it doesn't mean there isn't a wider problem with police, and it doesn't mean 'fight the anecdote' either. Several opposing things can be true.

TheOtherCapnS - 2016-09-14

I did not see him hiding any cocaine, even though I sat through his entire hyper-annoying monologue. I can't find a story about a man getting arrested on cocaine charges after filming his own arrest. This kinda seems like total bullshit.

TheOtherCapnS - 2016-09-14

Can someone point out the time that he is hiding cocaine in case I missed it, or point me to a story about this description not being a flaming pile of lying shit?

EvilHomer - 2016-09-14

I can't find any stories, either. The uploader claims that the gentleman in question was brought up on cocaine charges sometime after his arrest, due to a video he uploaded on Facebook. However, the initial arrest does not occur until the very end of this video, and at no point is he shown to be in possession of cocaine.

TheyUsedDarkForces - 2016-09-15

At one point around 8:30 in he mentions that he has some stuff that he needs to hide and that there are stash spots in his car. After that, it sounds like he opens and closes some kind of compartment. He's kinda fidgeting with stuff in his car the entire time, though, so who knows. Also mentions towards the end that before he gets out to look at the cops, he should check his pockets to make sure he doesn't have anything in there.

So, maybe that's what made them decide to go back and search his car more thoroughly? Also, around the time he mentions his stash spots, it appears that he has an extra-long pinky nail on his right hand, which probably didn't help matters. I thought that was strictly for characters in Iceberg Slim's books...

TheOtherCapnS - 2016-09-15

Ah yes, you're totally right. He does say he has some shit he needs to stash and has stash spots. I guess I kinda zoned out. He is really annoying. And apparently, a Grade A dumbfuck.

electricdepression - 2016-09-14

I can't find any stories about this and I didn't see where the cocaine was hidden. Where does the cocaine appear in the video, exactly?

baleen - 2016-09-15

I have no idea if that part of the story is real and I really don't have the time to research it so that a bunch of assholes posting this everywhere can be proven wrong. It's just what the thread said. I still think he's a moron.
