This just looks like Second Life with gaudier graphics.

Lef - 2016-09-15

Gaudier but not better.

fedex - 2016-09-14

I don;t know what's going on @ 1:35 but I want to pay 20$ a month to be a part of it

Monkey Napoleon - 2016-09-14

This looks like someone wanted to really pimp out their little corner of second life but decided to fuck paying for all the pixel bling and made a kickstarter to do it themselves.

You're halfway there, buddy.

simon666 - 2016-09-14

I don't get it.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-14

Hipsters cashing in on a trend that was creatively bankrupt by the end of 2013.

15th - 2016-09-15

Vaporwave never diezzz. Suck it chilldos!

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-15

It had some really good moments.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-15

Pretty much anything by Esprit or Internet Club is worth a listen.

Gmork - 2016-09-15

I prefer retro new wave. What's vaporwave, like Tycho or something?

15th - 2016-09-15

Gmork, Vapor Wave was like True Detective. They both started with really tired and cliche premises, but somehow pulled it off for a short time before turning into shitty self-parodies.

I'm no authority, but it seemed like an interesting blip.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-15

15th, that sounds about right to me. It actually kind of started as a joke in the drone scene in maybe 2010 or 2011 from what I can tell, people making this long, weird soundscapes using samples from really shitty 90s smooth jazz and muzak, and what I've heard of that stuff is great. The name didn't show up until later. I'm not authority either, though, and I more or less missed it, someone on Facebook pointed me to it because what I'd been doing reminded him of it, but that was early 2013 and by the end of the year it seemed completely codified and was well on the way to being a cottage industry. I think it definitely had a good run of it for what it was, though, I'd take it over Witch House or Chillwave any day as far as late 2000s Tumblr music goes.

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-15

Anyway, it definitely inspired me to double down on the whole lush Wavestation pads and shitty 90s saxophone samples" path I was already on at the time.

It's like some new part of me has a headache after watching 15 seconds of this.
Thanks, butthole.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-09-15

I blame vaporwave and shoddily made LSD.

1394 - 2016-09-15

I'm pretty sure colonycity did this better in 1997.

bongoprophet - 2016-09-15

this is how I imagine the metaverse in Snow Crash

Caminante Nocturno - 2016-09-15

We've been waiting almost 25 years for a sequel to Beyond the Mind's Eye, and this is what we get?

Cube - 2016-09-15

So the dude who picked the CGA colors was right all along.

Born in the RSR - 2016-09-15

this has too many "memes" to be anything less than cash in garbage, whatever "ware" gets attached to it is just another desperate attempt to market to the Harambe demographic.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2016-09-15

psst I think it's satire

Old_Zircon - 2016-09-15

That's the thing, I don't think it is anymore.
