I don't think the word Zionism is code for bigotry against Jews on the left as much as it is an acknowledgement of Israel's abysmal apartheid policy against Palestinians.

Of course the right does this so much better so it barely bears mentioning, but they do exist.

It helps to remember that words like "bigot", "hate", and "anti-semitism" are just rhetorical devices meant to facilitate ad hominem. Rather than getting hung up on semantics about who's a liberal, who's a racist, etc, we should simply be asking: who is right?

There's only one non-bigoted liberal exactly like you, and that is you - everyone else has their own set of perspectives and opinions which, though they may be similar, are bound to diverge from your own. Furthermore, the truth-value of any given proposition must be considered on its own; saying "I am right" is meaningless unless we know precisely what it is you are right about.

The day after the final debate a middle aged couple who had just flown in to the US from Israel for their first visit came in to work. I was showing them around. They'd been in the air when it was happening so the guy asked me "who won" then went on to talk about what a shame it was that us Americans are stuck with such awful choices, but that as an Israeli he also knows all about government betraying the will of the people.
