One time I got a big box of betamax tapes with a bunch of early 80s TV on them, all cataloged with original broadcast date and time, and I had to call up a local hoarder to take them because they were too interesting to throw away but too useless to keep.
Another time I found literally over 20 full cases of VHS tapes of one regional station from the late 80s through the early 90s, must have been 24/7 recordings for about 5 years, and that was sad to see go, someone put a lot of work in to that (or worked at the station and took them home).
Anyone with a cabinet full of blank recordable Betamax tapes was either into home made porn or couldn't get enough of taping late night with david letterman on timer.
