Feels like 80's pre-CNBC American tv programming. So much television like this tried hard at showing off big business success at sucking money out of the markets. CNBC turned that fever into more Joe-Q public television for people who all wanted to be Gordon Gekko.

I did some contractual market research work for KFC back in the 90's. The company was, back then, diamond focused on making sure every product they sell was done consistently. We must have done at least 1 taste test or focus group on the same products every other week.

Aside from that, this is fascinating.

Loy Stewart Weston Honolulu, HI Age 81, died on February 19, 2011 at his home in Honolulu, Hawaii after a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Momoyo Masuko Weston; his father, Loy Albion Weston; his mother, Kate Stewart Weston; his sister, Jean McMorran Summer;s and his nephew, Hugh Gordon McMorran. He is survived by sisters, Barbara Weston Moore of Naples, Florida and Anne Weston Ludlow Hathaway of Port Huron, Michigan. Other survivors are nephews, Henry Gordon MacMorran and David McMorran of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nieces, Pamela Todd Fox of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Susan Ludlow Rimdzius of Fountain Valley, California, and Barbara Ludlow Taussig of Farmington, Connecticut. Born and raised in Port Huron, Michigan, Loy Weston was an Eagle Scout. He was a graduate of Kemper Military Academy, the University of Michigan (B.A.), Wayne Law School, DePaul School of Law (L.L.B.) and the Columbia University Advanced Management Program. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and received in that conflict several personal decorations and unit citations. Following his military service Mr. Weston began his business career working in sales and new product development at IBM, concurrently initiating a variety of entrepreneurial ventures in the United States. Later he relocated to Tokyo where he served as founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kentucky Fried Chicken in Japan. Returning to the United States after more than a decade of distinguished business accomplishment in Asia, Mr. Weston served as Special Representative of the Governor of The Commonwealth of Kentucky. In that role he was instrumental in persuading Japanese firms to locate new manufacturing facilities in Kentucky. As a long time resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mr. Weston had been active in residential building design, construction management and business consulting. He also served as an Adjunct Professor in the Business School at the University of Hawaii and as Visiting Executive at Hawaii Pacific University. Loy Weston was a man of many interests and talents. In addition to his work as a senior corporate executive in the United States and Asia, he was an inventor, entrepreneur, artist, architect, builder, writer, poet, humorist, investor, teacher and collector of friends from all over the world.
