According to her son who, ironically, grew up and became a Baptist minister, she was a very evil woman who did all sorts of horrible things to rob and fuck over people. She also publicly disowned him for converting to Christianity, which makes her a loathsome cunt on the same level as the religious nutters who disown their kids for adopting atheism/some different religion.
I'm curious if this film will delve into any of that and maintain a more nuanced look at her, or if it will go the route most films of this nature go and just paint her as a sympathetic minimally flawed martyr who died because of her beliefs, or in her case, lack thereof.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2017-03-30 I'd say that it's a nuanced view. She certainly comes off as an asshole. But the first amendment principles she defended are argued well and in full. (Haven't seen the whole thing)

Cena_mark - 2017-03-31 The movie shows her as somewhat of a jerk, but that's the kind of person who was needed to take on the fights she fought. A nice guy who cares what other people think wouldn't have pissed off the majority of the nation. An asshole was needed for this role in history.

Is it just me or is Adam Scott being in something just absolutely repugnant. I don't know why but he activates this immediate and profound sense of revulsion.
