If you had any doubt we are through the looking glass, a few left wing media outlets are claiming this was a false flag and right wing outlets are deriding them.

We have always been in a ratings war with Eurasia.

I love Big Sponsor.

A few years back, when Obama threatened to strike Syrian bases if they kept up chemical attacks against the Syrian people, the media was out in force. No matter how many times Obama clearly explained the situation, what Obama was threatening to do, and how Syria could avoid the strikes, the media was all "WHY WON'T THIS CRAZY LUNATIC TELL US WHAT HE IS DOING AND WHY?" Sorry guys, you don't make up for dropping the ball on Iraq, by pretending Obama isn't explaining it very directly.

Then, when the chemical weapons situation was resolved peacefully -- by Assad agreeing to turn over his weapons to the UN, largely at Putin's prodding -- a big chunk of the Left was all, "thank God Putin stopped that crazy nigger from destroying us all. Wait, did we say 'nigger' out loud? We meant power-drunk tool of the 1%. Anyway, thank God we can look up to Putin as a wise and responsible head of state."

Do you really need to use racial epithets to call people racist for criticizing Obama?

namtar - 2017-04-08

Don't you know, Dummy; people who criticize Obama are just racist Nazis needing a good punch in the face.

A few years? Hell you only have to go back a few months to the dumb ass rhetoric here how electing Hillary was GUARANTEED WAR OVER SYRIA and that Donald Trump was a progressive mole.

"Don't you know, Dummy; people who criticize Obama are just racist Nazis needing a good punch in the face."

The Right is pretty good at saying "what no it isn't about race it's about policy" too.

The Bernie campaign went a long way to expose how much racism there is on the Left. (Funny thing is, blacks and other minorities could see it all along.) A lot of Lefties seemed to think Obama was irrational and in over his head, and I no longer think it was just about policy.

True. I'm still astonished that Obama did exactly what an admirable world leader should do -- confront a civilian-murdering tyrant, make him back down without firing a shot -- and the fucking retarded Left still made PUTIN their hero in the affair.

Well, not as astonished as I used to be.

Re: the racism in the Sanders campaign

I know plenty of people who STILL swear that he won the popular vote in the primary. During the election, they declared him the winner after he swept the Wisconsin to Oregon corridor, followed by a group of central flyover states.

Then when Hillary won every other state, including the metropolitan coasts and the south, it became a DNC conspiracy and Bernie should have been declared the immediate winner based on the flyover state results. It was really, really hard not to read into that as "black votes don't matter" to some degree.

Now, the false narrative is that Bernie won all the swing states and that's all that would have mattered in beating Trump. This is so easily proven false that it's impossible NOT to label Bernie support as a cult at this point.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democratic_Party_presidential_pr imaries,_2016

The biggest state Bernie won was Michigan. The only others he won that could be considered swing states were Indiana and Wisconsin: a combined 37 electoral votes. Meanwhile Hillary won Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and Florida: a combined 80 electoral votes.

Bernie lost in every possible category: popular vote, delegate vote, swing state support, total electoral vote count.

I forget that article you linked to breaking down the anti-Hillary narrative and Bernie myths, but the end summed it up perfectly: if you hate Trump but voted 3rd party or abstained, go fuck yourself and let actual adults try to fix all the damage you've caused.

There are a lot of articles you could be thinking of, but I'm guessing it's this one:

I don't think I've posted this one, but you'll like it:

Seymour Hersh pointed the finger at Turkish military intelligence (MIT) in 2014: https://www.lrb.co.uk/v36/n08/seymour-m-hersh/the-red-line-and-the -rat-line

I think its possible MIT, maybe even Erdoğan, thought that with Trump as president, they'd fare better manipulating the US into overtly joining the Turk/Saudi/Gulf Arab side of the proxy conflict over the Alawite/Iran/Russian side.

Bort - 2017-04-08

Seymour Hersh has done a lot of finger-pointing lately. Backing it up with evidence, not so much.

Scott Ritter (the former US Marine arms inspector that publicly opposed the 2003 Iraq invasion) also has his doubts.

Al Qaeda affiliate Tahrir al-Sham (aka Al-Nusra front) has controlled Khan Sheikhoun since February, and has a history of producing crude sarin munitions. Before that, Khan Sheikhoun was controlled by ISIS affiliate Liwa al-Aqsa, who Russian intelligence allege were producing chlorine gas and white phosphorus mortar shells for ISIS. The argument is that a Syrian bomb hit a munitions depot. Sarin gas is odorless, chlorine gas/WP shells are consistent with the pungent odor and blue-yellow color described by eyewitnesses.

The video itself is pretty amazing, just to watch the anchor's face.

Too bad it's on some asshat's shitty commentary "PLZ SUBSCRIBE AND DONATE TO MY PATREON!" channel.
